Hi all! I wanted to share my BFP for ~science~
I was looking at everyone’s charts before mine, seeing the BFP with low temp posts. I thought no way that would be me because my temps are usually high end of cycle when not pregnant, right up until I get my period. So when I woke up in the morning and saw my temp down, I thought for sure I was out for this month, but tested just because I had already planned to. I was so convinced it wasn’t my month that I was just walking around making coffee, and casually glanced over to my counter and saw “pregnant” on a clear blue digital. The way my jaw dropped…I was so shocked. This is my first ever positive! I can’t even process this is real!
Here’s what I learned:
Nothing means anything other than a test. All these posts saying I felt xyz thing and just knew are only relevant if you’ve already missed your period. But if you’re testing at 10-12 DPO nothing means anything. I swore I was getting my period because I felt cramps. Progesterone is needed for supporting implantation and is also what causes PMS symptoms. But progesterone also continues through pregnancy. So truly try not to keep body scanning to see if you feel different - it’ll just make you nuts!
I used oura and Mira to conceive, we had sex for 5 days straight (😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨) until we were sure I’d ovulated.
I tested positive on a clear blue digital on 11DPO and then here is my premate strip 12DPO. I learned pregmate are NOT very sensitive, so if you’re looking for early detection, don’t use these.
One thing that helped me stay grounded was creating a pragmatic ChatGPT thread (lol) and telling it my “symptoms” - to which it kept responding it means nothing either way and it was really grounding. I’d check in each day post ovulation and ask it what was biologically happening, and if something did happen where in the process was the embryo in its journey. This was also very ground (for me!) to understand that nothing I felt was a symptom or sign.
