AITA fired for no plausible reason
Good afternoon I male 23 was just let go at my employer of about 7 months due to a nasty conversation I had with a client. I am an insurance agent in NY in personal lines & commercial, my boss is essentially not a boss he is avoidant, doesn’t set expectation for clients & I was cleaning up some of his past mistakes being I am licensed with the state. I was just thrown this information for not really a client but a potential clients parent who is close to my boss etc long story short I had called her because I had sent a email regarding the quote for her son which was unacceptable for business use I then asked her to try to make sure the information given is 100% accurate or I have to start from the beginning isn’t the end of the world but helps maintain efficieny. She then replies with a snarky comment saying I had given her the incorrect information last week to which I was confused on what that was so I probed. She then stated my boss told her that to be written on our company you wouldn’t need 4 years and another line or product opened I told her I wasn’t aware the conversation took place but that was incorrect I was trained by my boss and another lady in office also by our underwriter who had advised. She then stated little do I know he has a policy with progressive with us… so if that is the case why is a agent of record being prompted when I finished the initial quote. I told her since these conversations with her are always like this I will refer her over to my boss being that what she was referring to before i disconnected the line after she asked if I was dismissing her & I said yes because the conversation wasn’t productive & was like her trying to paint me as if I had a knowledge gap in something I’ve been doing.
