Hey everyone! Just brought home our first-ever Subaru -- a 2026 Forester Hybrid Premium. We’ve always been a Toyota family, so I’m very familiar with their hybrid systems, but I have to say I’m really enjoying the Subaru driving feel so far.
I paid a bit under $32,000 (before TTL) with about $400 in add-ons. Looking at some of the MSRPs online, it felt like a solid deal, but I wanted to see what others are seeing at their local dealerships. How did I do?
In our Toyotas, the electronic parking brake (EPB) engages automatically the second you shift into Park. My Forester doesn't seem to do this. Is there a way to toggle an "Auto-Engage" setting in the menus, or is it strictly a manual pull/push every time?
I also noticed that the digital gauge cluster doesn't seem to project Google Maps navigation while I'm using Android Auto (I think it works for Apple CarPlay). Is there a setting I’m missing, or is that a known limitation of the current software?
I'm very familiar with Toyota Hybrid drivetrain and looking forward to learning more about this car. Any "must-know" tips for a first-time Subaru owner?
Many Thanks!
