>Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) is recalling certain 2018-2022 Outlander PHEV and 2014-2020 Outlander vehicles. The liftgate gas spring cylinders may corrode and lose pressure, which can result in a gas spring cylinder rupture or the liftgate falling unexpectedly.

>Remedy

>MMNA will replace the left and right liftgate gas springs, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 17, 2026. Owners may contact MMNA customer service at 1-888-648-7820. MMNA's number for this recall is SR-26-001. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov June 3, 2026. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 25V507.

So sunshades are fantastic for keeping the car from overheating in the sun and protects the interior from the damaging UV wear. The biggest problem is they are bulky and there is not a convenient place to store them for regular use. Most people put them in the footwell of the passenger side or the floor or seat in the back to be accessible. But this is no good if you have passengers and it is annoying to have it laying there if you want a clean look. The trunk is not easily accessible for routine use…

But I found it fits perfectly just under the moonroof above the sliding access cover. It can slide back under the headliner as far as needed without restriction since it fits in the area where the glass roof would store when you open it to the air (I would not suggest leaving it up there when opening the glass sunroof to the outside). So you can still use the moonroof normally with the roof shade open while it is up there. And It is super accessible for routine use—simply slide open the cover and retrieve it to put in the windshield.

It has the added benefit of reflecting heat out of the car that enters the glass during normal driving! It’s fantastic.

The carabiner worked! Spent a night testing out the new car camping tent and it worked perfectly! These photos were to capture the feel and size, but excited to use it again soon with the dogs. Plenty of room and easy to attach and set up.

Bought the forester on New Years Eve of 2025 for $1,000 as a flip car. Seller thought it needed transmission work. Turns out it needed exhaust work and a head gasket to say the least. Removed the engine to do the head gaskets and did a complete reseal w, time belt, water pump, pulleys, etc. Replaced a bunch of components including the entire coolant system. After doing all the work decided I put too much into it to sell it. Took it on the beach and on a few trails stock. Deep ruts on the beach showed me I needed more clearance. Did some visual mods (Got rid of those chrome tail lights). Put an ADF 2” front 2.5” rear lift kit on it. Went from 215/65/16 General Grabbers to 235/75/15 Hankook AT2 Xtremes. Cut more than I wanted to fit them but you can’t tell. Just finished the first trail run after the lift and tires. I’m not done but like how far it’s come.

Hi friends! I’m on the brink of a crisis over what to do with my forester, save it or trade it in for something else. Basically there’s been a weird vibrating for some time now, new tires didn’t fix it, took it to my mechanic and it definitely needs new control arms BUT they also discovered a few other things. My cat is performing at max 40-50% power, and I haven’t been getting great gas mileage since I bought it in June 2024. I can’t recall ever hitting 30mpg whether it’s city or highway, but I make frequent 200mi round trip trips every month and I’d say it’s averaging 25mpg highway at about 75-80 mph (lead foot). I’ll attach the work up my shop gave & if I decide to make all the repairs I’ll definitely be getting certain things done myself (breaks & rotors) but the $5k repairs is essentially what I’ve already paid on the loan for the car :(. It’s the loml and the features make me feel spoiled but the repairs & sad mpg is making me consider trading it in for a hybrid CX-50 or hybrid For ester (though the mpg isn’t as great and that screen makes me puke). Help💔💔💔

EDIT: I still have about $12k owed, bad loan from when I first bought it. If I decide to fix it I do plan on refinancing for a better APR but part of my decision to trade is due to the payments for something newer/better mpg

despite being a long term artist, I never ever was interested in drawing any sort of mechanical art (robots,, vehicles,, complex metal objects,, etc.) but this SILLY LITTLE CAR has changed me completely and utterly. I am now learning how to draw cars just so I can make some art for it because I love it so dearly. SUBARU HAS CHANGED MY LIFE 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Finally joined the Subaru family. My entire family has Subaru vehicles and I never have. Picked this one up today.

Installed 60 inch Yakima Jetstreams on Skytowers on my 2026 Forester. Tried them out for the first time today. Easy to load a 16 ft canoe from the side solo and there is a ton of space up there. Can easily fit another boat if not 2.
