I have a theory that smart people have one of many weaknesses to psychic attacks. Where one smart person gained there wisdom from the lack of the idiots drive to do work. So they became intelligent to solve that conundrum. so their life long goal is to stay on the top of the intellectual ladder. To do that they must prove idiots wrong or always show their work.
But a Pretentious idiot like me or others can become a dangerous jester to poke fun at there insecurity of them being terrified that they messed up something important and will be seen as dumb if they fail.
To test this I did my best impression of a smart person while being an idiot myself. and when they made a statement like “all animals evolved from sea creatures” or something like that I can’t remember. I made the remark. “Only one of common intellect would assume that when they can’t grasp the bigger picture in the grand scheme of things!” While making no evidence to back up my thoughts causing them to look up evidence to show me I was wrong while I replied with a pretentious statement like “you have ought to see the bigger picture to understand my reasoning that I won’t bother to tell!” Causing the young smart person to be in an intellectual battle with a fool like me.

Now an idiot would understand it was ragebait but a smart person can’t stand the thought of not being able to test there metal against someone they think to be lesser than them. There internal struggle with self esteem and demand of praise from others is there downfall causing a deadlocked battle of idiot verse smart person.

Now my theory is smart people are unable to resist the temptation to argue with a pretentious person to prove them self right when the pretentious person will lose no sleep over this.

While the average or below average person will understand it’s ragebait and move on!
