At some point, I decided to give my Dream Guardian some appearance features that may more or less subtly betray their illithid-ness.
The Emperor is a busy mind flayer, after all. There are probably days when he can't be bothered anymore to put on full make up before showing up... Especially on an umpteenth playthrough.
