Let’s share some strength

I’m personally going through it after ending an engagement. Over the past month and a half I’ve been in hell. I find people try and say the right things - “it’s for the best”, “better it happened before marriage and kids”, “you’ll be okay”, “life goes on”, or the ever “that’s what life is”.

I don’t resonate with those sayings. I get the message but for me personally words need to be said a specific way for me to resonate with them.

Fortunately I’ve found a few that have stuck with me and brought me moments of strength, and maybe we can all share some quotes.

Here’s mine -

“If being hard on yourself worked, it would’ve worked by now.”

“Until death all failure is psychological.”

“If you escape a burning building, you do not run back in just because you are cold.”

“When a shark bites you, you do not swim after it and ask why.”

Best of luck out there.

28M, freshly single after 4 years

Need to know if I should change anything before getting back out there, thanks!

Edit: I’m straight and just broke off my engagement, but thanks for the comments nonetheless!
