IBD diagnosis

IBD diagnosis

My ball python Loki was diagnosed with IBD, yet he’s shown absolutely none of the signs of it. I got him the test on a whim, as I didn’t even think he had it in the first place. The vet didn’t even recommend it. He was at the vets that day for his yearly check up. The vet believes he’s had it since he was young, because he’s literally never been near another snake in his entire life other than when I purchased him 10 years ago, and I haven’t even held a snake other than him in 7 years. I am a hypochondriac, so I wash my hands quite frequently, and NEVER hold Loki without washing my hands first. I don’t even have friends that have snakes. Loki is 10 years old now. He also doesn’t have mites, and never has, as I check him once a week for them, because I’m so paranoid about this exact thing happening. He still eats, and has never once turned down a meal in his entire life, is gaining weight if anything, and moves around still. If anything he’s been more active lately. The only thing that’s different in any way lately is he comes out to bask more during the day, but he doesn’t even do it for very long. He has no neurological symptoms. I have a camera set on him, and I’ve watched very extensively the footage throughout the night, and he is showing no signs of IBD. During the day I check on him once an hour when I’m home. Even when I’m at work, I check the footage occasionally, and still, no signs of IBD. Could the test be wrong? Or is it possible for a ball python to have IBD this long, and survive 10 years with no issues.
