Apparently the first meal I gave after a 3 month hunger strike wasn't enough

Silly little video of my Hermes hunting his brother after refusing a small rat, then gobbling up a rat pup in less than 5 minutes. Then he's back on the hunt. He seems totally fine, didn't regurgitate and I checked, he definitely ate it, I think he just got intimidated by the size of the small rat since we're newly transitioning him.

But yay! He sees rats as food now! Hoping to size him up to proper smalls soon

Is this shed or a bigger concern?

I have been neglecting my snake a bit and I found a shed in her tank that I didnt know she went through. It looked like a good shed- it came off in one piece. When she and I begun to hang out I noticed this. When I touch it it feels smooth- not like dead skin. I put more water in her tank to amp up the humidity. Should I be concerned? Do I need to take her to the vet?

Escape question

This might sound stupid but My new ball python is about 6-7 months old maybe 13 inches and this tank I got has about a 1/16 size gap between the door and plastic. Google says they can fit because of how their bodies are but I don’t think it could squish itself that much right? It’s just big enough to fit a thermostat probe wire through so if any case I’ll do that instead of having them come down the top but I’m just curious if he could actually escape or not?

Please help! Is my baby sick?

He didn’t have these red/dry(?) scales on his face a few days ago what do they mean and do I need to do something about it? He hasn’t eaten the last 2 times i fed him so 3 weeks since he’s last eaten and he’s usually a good eater if that matters. Humidity is 70-80%.

Scale Rot or just Discoloration?

To summarize, I've made some changes to Yaezir's (my BP's) enclosure the past week or so, including sealing the bottom edges of the tank, adding a bar across the tank for climbing, and adding a layer of some new substrate (coco chip, same as the rest, but different brand: Repti Chip). When I took Yaezir out today, I saw this discoloration along his underside. I immediately assumed it was scale rot and ordered Neosporin (non-pain relief kind) and bacitracin that will arrive tomorrow. Upon further research, however, I'm wondering if it's merely discoloration from the new substrate rather than scale rot, since I haven't been able to find any pictures that match what Yaezir has going on. I did also notice that the new bedding had discolored the water a rust-ish color when initially moistening it to fluff it up. Can anyone confirm one way or the other whether it's scale rot or not? I do intend to treat it anyway just in case it IS scale rot!

Caught our rescued babies first shed on camera

We got Noodle Macaroni (he was supposed to be Yormungander, but he wouldn’t destroy the world in Ragnarok by any chance) around three weeks ago. Its been a tough ride with both him and gecko we got from the same place, but Noodle did a complete shed yesterday and I’m so proud of him 💗
First time snake owner, please be kind if anything on the video is bad. 🥺

Is this enough stuff or do I need more clutter?

Rescued a 10 year old from a middle school who only weighed 215 grams in January. I got her up to 700g now and into her forever home. Just wondering what opinions are out there. Ive got a 1 sqft cork plank as a lid for an underground hot side hide, and a rounded out log on the cool side with some other spots. She seems to be comfortable with her options, but she literally just had a 20 gallon tank with an UTH and bark for her whole life up to this point so I feel its better than what she's used to

Normal to have single spots

Is it normal to have single black scales on a yellow bellied pied python? He has a bout three total “pixels” that are black on his white body. Normal?

I need some input

This is my first time owning a snake, she's supposedly a year old but she's only 202 grams, I've had her for a week and the last time she ate was Thursday, they told me every 2 weeks to feed her a large frozen mouse (they gave me the food with her) but I'm wondering if I need to do it once a week because of her size, does she looks skinny?

Seperate enclosures?

Hey guys i'm having a question. Ive got 2 ballpython between 1.5/2 years but one of them is struggling with food en reject more times than she eats. She used to eat very good.

Because my school had 2 ballpython in the same enclosure and the breeder said it was fine I've put two in a 150x50x50. But after reading more I now know that it can be stressful for them to be together. I also know it can be too big the terrarium but I've made multiple hides in the encloser on both te warm and the cooler side so i don't think that's the problem. They love to lay behind the fake leaf wall lol. Maybe i should add some more green in the middel tho.

Now I'm doubting to get them a separate enclosures because maybe it is stress related that one of them doesn't want to eat. She's also significantly smaller than the one that does eat good. So maybe that also doesn't help. The temp en humidity is on both sides good (around 31-32 Celcius warm side and few Celsius less on the cooler side) (humidity i try to keep around 70) so I doubt that's an issue. But let me know if you think otherwise. In the night i let the temp drop a few Celsius. They can hide in multiple spots and they do lay together often. I also never see them fight or give bad behaviour to eachother. But that won't say that they can't be giving eachother stress and that It won't become a problem in the future.

A second encloser is not easy with the amount of space I have and stuff. But I do want what is best for them. So do you guys think I should get another terrarium and separate them?

Ps don't mind the temp and humidity in the picture. That was after i put in new substrate and it still needed to warm up a bit inside.

Thank you for your time reading this and all feedback is welcome.

BP Pooping?

Hello! This is Sylvia. We are new BP owners! We have had her for about a month now. We fed her for the first time a week after we got her as she was getting used to her new environment- for her from Petco! she had already been there 8 months. We feed her every Wednesday. So she has now successfully ate 3 times under our care. She eats in her enclosure. She’s awesome and we love her! But, she has not pooped since we have gotten her. Is this normal? Or can it indicate that we are not feeding big enough rats? We do frozen (thawed) and she’s eating adult size. Last time we weighed her before feeding she was 448 grams.

Just wondering when we should expect her first poop and when to be concerned! Thank you all!

Need advice!!

I honestly should’ve done this a long time ago but my boyfriend and I were both pretty uneducated. We got our ball python Jynx about 3 years ago as a rehome from another person. My boyfriend had a ball python growing up so i didn’t think it would be too hard rescuing one and left majority of the care up to him cuz he was the one who reallyw wanted him . (i was 17 don’t come for me 😃). However i’ve been doing more research the past couple of months and realized our care has been honestly less than adequate for him. he’s still a happy boy and he gets lots of time out of his enclosure but it’s just way too small. Google is honestly just confusing me at this point so if anybody could give me like a straight up list to redo everything including, tank (planning on getting a 4x2x2 from dubia?), heating, lighting etc. I was thinking possibly going bioactive in the future but not sure how much maintenance it would require. i’m hoping not to break the bank i really can’t afford to just drop $1000 unfortunately. Honestly any advice would be helpful. I just want him to be comfortable and well taken care of.

Help why is she defensive now?

Hi hello i am new to this hobby and got my first snake recently 2 months ago, shes 1 year old. Shes been great always eating perfect shed when shes out and im handling her shes always super curious.

The thing is yesterday i fed her after she shed a couple of days ago, after she ate like 5 hours after i was just checking her how shes doing after the food (outside of the terrarium) then she came out the hide fast making herself in strike position which shes never done towards me ever, i got confused and left her alone. Today i was going to change her water (never been an issue before) she did the same thing as soon as i opened the terrarium, i closed it slowly and walked away to not stress her out more. What could have coused her to start acting like this or am i maybe doing something wrong?

stargazing?

first and foremost i’d like to make it known that i just got this boy a week ago and this is his temp/quarantine setup until his dubia roaches one comes in! i’ve noticed that he tends to almost go upside down on the roof of his enclosure. is he stargazing or just exploring? is he trying to find something to climb?
