The Real-World Horizon | Perfectly aligning the Old World Pioneers Museum over the ruins of Devil's Thirst!

// ARCHIVAL DATA RESTORED //
Drone Uplink: Secure
File Designation: Pioneers Museum (Colorado Springs Historical Archive)

Bypassing the standard map boundaries to get the perfect camera angle, I wanted to show a direct, 1:1 architectural overlay of what this building looked like before the world ended compared to the ruins we climb today.

Safe to say the structure has seen better days, but the central tower alignment is spot on. This completely wraps up my documentation on the Museum site.

AI Ground Support coordinates logged. Next stop for the drone archive: The Church steeple tonight.

Mad Max Vibes down the River | Tracking the ruins from the water line of Devil's Thirst!

Drone Log // Low-Altitude Scout // Sector: Monument Valley Creek

Giving the virtual photography crowd something a bit grittier. Dropped the camera straight down to the riverbed just a short trek downstream from the main overlook to get this intense, towering look at the collapsed high-rises.

The way the sunlight hits the rusted iron structures and overgrown concrete gives me absolute Mad Max vibes. Nature completely reclaimed the old world riverbed, but the bones of the ancient city still look incredibly menacing from down here.

Any post-apocalyptic fans in the sub? What film or game does this river view remind you of?

The View from the Dome | Scaled the very top of the Devil's Thirst Bandit Camp for this dev-level panoramic!

Drone Log // High-Altitude Survey // Sector: The Explorer Museum Dome

Unless you're a developer or you've spent hours figuring out how to scale the trickiest geometry in the game, you have probably never seen Devil's Thirst framed from this exact angle.

After figuring out the route up, I managed to get Aloy perfectly balanced on top of the ruined museum dome to capture the true scale of the ancient city. The way the morning fog settles into the valley completely transforms the depth of the ruins against the mountain peaks.

Virtual photographers, how did I do on the framing for this one?

The Real-World Horizon | Perfectly aligning the Old World Colorado Springs skyline over Devil's Thirst! (Aloy's Drone Archive)

Drone Log: Environmental Reconstruction // Sector: Devil's Thirst

Tried to line this up as precisely as possible from the ridge before we head out to hunt for that ancient mesa spot!

Managed to overlay a holographic projection of the pre-plague 21st-century skyline directly over the current ruins. It’s wild seeing exactly where the old buildings used to stand against the mountain peaks before nature completely reclaimed the valley.

The Long Climb | The Old Mining Exchange: Est. 1902 — Abandoned 2065

Tracking the ancient skyline across from the Explorer Museum. Looking over what used to be the historic downtown core of Colorado Springs—now just a flooded canyon swallowed by nature. Testing out some high-angle drone framing to capture the sheer scale of the Old World's brick architecture against the mountains.

The Long Climb | Figured out two different routes to scale the ruined explorer museum(Bandit Camp) in Devil's Thirst! (Aloy's Drone Archive)

"The Long Climb | Explorer Museum: Est. 1903 — Abandoned 2065.

I only picked up Horizon a week ago and I literally cannot put it down! The world is so breathtaking that I've basically given up on rushing the story and gone full photographer historian instead.

Testing out some cinematic framing, panoramic sweeps, and editing to document Aloy's journey through these incredible Old World ruins. Captured via Aloy's Drone.

Let me know what you think of the flow and the two different route paths!"
