Have not ever had issues with ticks ever within all the years of walking around Madison parks, but have been reading of numerous occurrences others are experiencing, thinking that’s wild - and that we’ll just stay on mowed paths, trimmed areas, stay out of brushy areas, etc., so the other day we stuck to the paths at Cherokee Marsh, walking the southern part, which just skirts the golf course.

We took a break & sat on some benches in the sun, benches that were on a large concrete slab, when my gal noticed something moving on her shoelaces, and we found it to be this - quite the large tick. Got it off, squished it.

It made us feel a little squirmy feeling the rest of the walk, but we didn’t find anymore on us thankfully! Not so lucky for others we’ve heard!Watch out out there!
