Simple Goddess and God figures made from cardboard

Hey everyone,

I made these simple deity figures using cardboard, a small piece of wood as a base, and some branches for the horns. They're not perfect, but to me, they're special because I made them.

What do yours look like? Would love to see your setup :)

Daily practice and protection rituals

Hey everyone,

Does anyone here have a daily spiritual practice for energetic protection or cleansing? I know many occultists rely on rituals like the LBRP or Middle Pillar as a form of daily "spiritual hygiene." In my case, the only daily practice I do is meditation.

Do you feel rituals like these are necessary in Wicca, or how do you approach it in your own tradition?

Thanks!

Magickal courses

What is your opinion of the various magickal courses/schools out there, such as Quareia, Franz Bardon's Initiation into Hermetics, Jason Miller's Strategic Sorcery, IMBOLC etc.?

Which ones do you think are the best, and which ones to avoid?

Is life destruction mandatory for everyone?

I’ve been reading some commentary by Frater Acher regarding the Quareia curriculum. He mentioned that he didn't fully pursue the actual Quareia course because he didn’t want to threaten his family life or compromise his worldly situation.

Quareia explicitly talks about the "tearing apart of the apprentice", where fate, spirits, and the sheer force of the training can unspool a person’s life (relationships, jobs, health) to strip away what doesn’t serve their ultimate path.

This got me thinking, are these destructive life changes a mandatory, "universal tax" for high-level magical training, or do they only happen if your life is fundamentally misaligned when you start?

In theory, if a practitioner has already done immense internal work, achieved a high level of awakening, and balanced their life before starting a course like Quareia, will destruction still happen simply because the system forces it to? Or does the "tearing apart" only target the structures built on illusions and unhealed baggage?

Magick vs. Philosophy

Hey everyone,

I want to start by saying I’m not here to knock anyone's practice, I'm just brainstorming and wanted to open up an honest discussion on a thought I’ve been chewing on.

I’ve been comparing the path of theurgy/high magick with philosophy (like Stoicism) regarding how we achieve growth and alignment with the Divine. It often feels like in magick, the goal is always dangling just out of reach. There’s always a future ritual, a higher initiation, or a new system to master before you "arrive." Compare that to Stoicism, which argues that you already possess the fundamental virtues and internal tools to align with God/Nature/Higher-self right now. The shift is immediate and internal, rather than a long, grueling climb up a mountain.

It made me wonder, did we artificially create these incredibly complex magical systems just to give ourselves structure? Do we crave the grueling "path" because the struggle makes us feel like we're earning something we actually already have?

Why choose the complex, symbolic labor of magick over the direct, mindset-driven approach of philosophy?

I'd love to hear your perspectives :)

Male practitioners in Wicca

What is the general attitude towards male practitioners in the community?

A lot of modern Wicca online feels heavily focused on the Goddess (which makes perfect sense after centuries of patriarchy and oppression of women). But as a guy looking for a path with a true, equal dualism, it sometimes feels like the God is left in the background and is treated as an afterthought.

Do you feel like the balance between the God and the Goddess is a bit broken nowadays, or is that just an internet thing? Also, if you have any book reccommendations which deal with genuine wiccan duality, I'd be more than grateful :)

Thanks!
