Help! No matter what I do my foundation lifts and looks patchy
Hey everyone,
I’m having troubles with a foundation I have been using recently. It’s the Best Skin Ever foundation by Sephora.
It seems that no matter what I do (exfoliation, hydrating skin prep, primer, no primer, finger application, or brush) it always ends up doing this (see photo).
I can’t tell if I’m applying it wrong or if the formula has changed?? I had this exact foundation back in 2023 and it applied perfectly back then, I’m still using the same brush (cleaned regularly) and have switched to the Best Skin Ever concealer in hopes that matching the formulas would help, but it didn’t.
I also like to wait a few minutes after skin prep and also after primer to let it sink in, if that helps.
I have searched this sub for answers but it seems no solution works so far 😭
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!
Products used:
Sometimes I use the Maybelline Master Primers in shade 300 (the green one) and shade 100 (clear/white) but not always. I tried to use them as they have similar starting ingredients to the foundation but nothing changed :/
Makeup:
- Sephora Best Skin Ever foundation (shade 01n)
- Sephora Best Skin Ever concealer (shade 01p)
- using the Sephora Pro Foundation brush (#47) for application
Skin prep:
- Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser
- Hypocholorus acid spray
- The Ordinary glycolic acid toner (I often switch between this and the lactic acid exfoliator)
- The Ordinary Hyaluronic acid serum
- Corsrx Snail mucin serum
- The Ordinary Daily Moisturizer
