R&D ing on Insta360 X6 VR180 Mod, Flex PCB extension cable in the work...

Finanly we got 10bit and proper log on Insta360 X6, so it is worth some exploring! it's very easy to take apart but seems extension cables are needed again, pic 2 is not the the right answer due to sensor orientation, but it's gonna be pretty straight forward once the cable is in...Prototype flex PCB desigend and ordered...Stay tuned!

FIFA’s Graph Does Not Prove the Ball Missed the Cable

*KARMA:) 07/15

Please spread the words! Regarding the "cable of god" situation in Norway vs England match, as a tech nerd who knows about IMU sensors and data, I cannot stand FIFA's "evidence" post, which is based on a very poor data-visualization graph.

TL;DR: FIFA’s graph does not conclusively prove that the ball missed the cable. It has no units, scale, noise floor, filtering details, or detection threshold. A light, glancing contact could produce a much smaller signal than the kick and may not be visible on this graph at all.

Just from a data-visualization perspective, FIFA’s disclaimer video is extremely misleading. FIFA presents this graph as conclusive proof that the ball did not touch the cable, yet the graph has no y-axis label, units, numerical scale, noise floor, filtering information, or contact-detection threshold.

The large peak caused by the goal kick tells us nothing about whether a much smaller, glancing contact with the cable would be visible at this scale. Such a signal could be compressed into the apparent baseline, obscured by noise, or removed through smoothing and filtering.

This graph therefore cannot conclusively rule out contact. To support that conclusion, FIFA should publish the raw three-axis IMU data around the incident, including units, timestamps, sensor range, filtering settings, noise floor, and a validated detection threshold. Or simply publish all camera angles during that time. The fact they are not doing it and the way they present the data makes me very suspicious

VR180 Silver Bullet 2.0! Free All in one GPU accelerated post sofware for VR180 modded cameras (GoPro Max 2 VR180 and OSMO VR180 fully supported).

VR180 SilverBullet 2.0 is officailly here! Free & open source: https://github.com/silverqsy/VR180-Silver-Bullet

Good news for GoPro Max 2 VR180 and OSMO VR180 users! A brand new VR180 SilverBullet 2.0 is here, it's a complete ground-up rewrite using Rust + wgpu, it's faster, more stable and the new structure enables exciting new features such as real-time preview, live color / alignment / stabilization controls, export up to 2× faster at 10-bit and more.

The headline: Full support for OSMO VR180 Mod (.osv)

It reads your camera's exact factory lens calibration straight from the file and dewarps each eye — with output quality on par with DJI Studio — plus precise IMU stabilization and per-scanline rolling-shutter correction. (GoPro Max 2 VR180 Mod .360 is fully supported too.)

New in 2.0:

  • Real-time WYSIWYG preview — scrub and tune color and stabilization with the full pipeline applied live. What you see is what you ship.
  • Up to 2× faster export at 10-bit — end-to-end zero-copy GPU pipeline.
  • Batch processing — load a whole shoot, tune each clip, export the lot from one queue.
  • 8K (8192×4096) output, H.265 or ProRes.
  • Vision Pro (APMP) + YouTube VR180 metadata, plus APAC spatial audio.
  • Color (CDL / 3D LUT / WB), gyro stabilization + RS correction, temporal noise reduction(Mac Only).
  • Bilingual UI — English / 简体中文.

Free & open source. Native app for macOS (Apple Silicon) and Windows (NVIDIA) — no Python, no setup, one download.

Please give it a try and let me know what you think! Message me if interested in the 2 Mods: learn more:

Introducing OSMO VR180 CNC, a weather-sealed, full-aluminum VR180 mod based on the DJI Osmo 360, now coupled with state of the art gyro stabilization via VR180 Silver Bullet 2.0.

With the whole body acting as a heatsink, it can achieve unlimited 8K50P 10-bit VR180 recording without needing a fan. Paired with DJI’s own battery rod and great low-light performance, it becomes a perfect solution for long recording sessions such as concerts, indoor performances, and events.

DJI's Osmo 360 Battery Extension Rod, Clean, wire-free silent setup for long-term recording, delivering close to 4 hours of continuous 8k50p recording.

It also has a super bright OLED screen with live preview while shooting. Combined with the newly implemented stabilization workflow, it is also a great compact setup for travel.

Daylight viewable OLED screen with stablized preview while shooting

Even more good news: we now have full software support and proper stabilization working for the OSMO VR180 mod via VR180 Silver Bullet 2.0. Stabilization, lens distortion correction, and rolling shutter correction are as good as the official DJI Studio (it might have the best stablization out of all my mods). Just import the OSV files from the camera and export ready-to-watch stabilized VR180 files for headsets.

VR180 Silver Bullet 2.0 in action! State of the art stabilization for OSMO VR180 mod, and you can see all the stablizaion, view adjustment and color grading in real-time!

The VR180 Silver Bullet has been rewritten with Rust and wgpu for a much more efficient and robust pipeline. As a result, it now supports real-time playback with stabilization and color grading, and export times are around 2x faster than the previous version. Right now, the OSMO VR180 mod is the first camera supported by VR180 Silver Bullet 2.0. GoPro Max 2 VR180 mod support and support for more cameras are coming soon.

Almost 40fps export speed on m5 Max!

The mod will be available as both mod kits and fully modded cameras.

Limited-time introductory pricing:
Fully modded camera: $899
Mod kit: $279

Please note: the mod process requires destroying the original front panel. It is more challenging than the Q3U mod, but still manageable for people who are comfortable with careful DIY work.

Thank you guys for your support! DM me if interested.
