My grandfather’s Omega Genève, gifted to him by Czechoslovak President Ludvík Svoboda
This Omega Genève (ref. 132.019, cal. 611) originally belonged to my grandfather.
It was given to him by General Ludvík Svoboda, then President of Czechoslovakia, sometime during his presidency.
The watch was eventually passed down to me, together with its original Omega case and warranty documents.
More than 50 years later, I still think the design looks incredibly timeless. But for me, these are much more than just vintage watches. They’re actually what started my appreciation for Omega in the first place — and one of the reasons I eventually bought a Speedmaster of my own.
I don’t know the exact year they were presented to my grandfather, so if any Omega experts here can tell me more about the reference or help narrow down the production date, I’d love to learn more about them.
