Solo travelling recommendations July-Sept

Hi. I am going to be between jobs this summer and will have about 10 weeks out of work (July- early sept) so I thought this would be a great time to do some travelling however I’m not sure where.

I’m 25M from the UK and will be most likely going solo. I’d like a mix of nature/wildlife and cities/culture. Don’t have a huge budget but willing to spend if it’s going to be worth it.

I had thought Japan because I have family there but it’s apparently unbearably hot in summer. I had also thought Thailand because it’s apparently good for solo travellers but it’s the monsoon season during this time.

So any ideas/recommendations would be great thank you!

Is my Persian bored or just lazy?

Our Persian Geraldine doesn’t do much during day apart from sleeping and following us round waiting for food to drop. Sometimes she just sits and watches us for ages and I’m worried that she is bored especially when we are both at work but a lot of people say that’s just how Persians are.

We leave food around the house for her to hunt for and we have some toys (including a treat puzzle) but she loses interest quickly except for a piece of twine that she loves to chase around the house.

Any ideas for how to keep her more stimulated? Ideally something she can do herself when we are out of the house.
