Just welcomed our 2nd Persian Finneas to the family. Already making himself at home
he’s a freak bitch and an angel and i am the luckiest person alive
I was getting ready to paint my toenails and she wanted her walk. She jumps on my shoulders when I’m working and rubs and purrs into my ears. It’s irresistible.
I covered myself with my mane ‘cause no one’s here to see me.
A task to click his pic , likes biting my ankles , meows every time after litter hour as if announcing he’s done w the pooping . Cuddles during the night . I can’t get over his tactics. Born black , starting to turn grey as he grows. His name is perfect for his menacing ass
First time adopting a Persian, cannot believe the personality he already has only at 2 months old!
My new baby Apollo he turns 8 weeks tomorrow. He has my entire family wrapped around his paw. He is actually perfect and my first Persian!
This isn't me saying I ONLY want persians... but I always want one in my life.
Now having Bao in my life for 2 years, I have come to realize although she wasn't what I was looking for at first, she is exactly what I needed.
I love high maintenance cats. I think having to find how to make her maintenance as comfortable as possible really helps build the bond.
She still hates baths and screams during them no matter what I do to make it less stressful, but afterwards she will curl up and snuggle with me all night.
Whenever she wakes up and can barely open her eyes due to them being leaky, she purrs when I'm wiping them. She purrs when I brush her (except for her tummy.) and she purrs when her little booger need plucked sometimes when it's blocking her nose. She does hate when I have to trim the fur on her paw pads or behind but she seems to still understand it is for her own good.
I have to be on top of her health 24/7 because of how fragile she is. Obviously this isn't a great thing, and it has caused me so many sleepless nights when she does get sick, but there is something special in being fully aware of her health 24/7.
She is very stereotypical in personality for a persian. Lazy, legs for food, VERY social and affectionate, relatively quiet (until food is involved.) The only thing she doesn't fit is that she isn't intelligent. She is as dumb as a rock and I love her for it
I do want to get non persians still (very badly actually), but I think some of the unique stuff and being so high maintenance is something I don't think I can ever give up.
There will be a day I have to write a farewell post for Bao on here, and there will be a day I introduce a new baby to this community.
I really loved painting this cat. Those huge eyes stare right through you. Cleared out the Christmas tree branches and the bow around her neck, and gave her a clean teal background instead so all the focus stays on that face. Getting all that soft, fluffy fur to look right took a good bit of patience. This was a commission, and I hope I did her justice.
Well it's August and it's hot as hell, but my Persian princess Yuki is just shedding like crazy.ive had her for less than a year, and it was never like this, I can't even pet her once without my entire palm being hair, it gets everywhere and I'm tired of eating it accidentally....
What can I do? I groom her with 2 different brushes daily, yet it goes no where, also If I forget one day, she gets tangles like immediately so it's also bad for her.
What can I do? Can I take her to the groomer to shave some off? Is that wrong? I just want the best for her, but I can't pet her if I just eat a handful of hair each time...
Hi everyone!
I’ve loved Persian cats for a long time but I haven’t been able to get one due to travelling alot for work. I’m now at a point in my life where I travel a lot less and live very close to lots of family members.
Im a reaaal home body, but maybe once or twice a year I have to go away for about four weeks at a time? My question is, if I was to take them to stay with a family member when I go away would they settle or would this be hugely anxiety inducing for them?
I don’t want the fact I travel maybe once a year to hinder the rest of my time at home and the life I want to live, but I also don’t want the cat to have an uncomfortable existence. I’m in my 30s and I live alone, I’d love to get a small friend and I feel very ready for it.
I adopted her about 8 months ago and it has been 8 months of pure joy. She is allegedly 4 years old, based on her teeth ( i think she may be 2 years old) and came to me shaved as she was completely matted and had terrible eye infections in both eyes. Luckily shes doing much better but she does still frequently get eye infections despite daily cleaning :(
She wants to go for a walk, but is soooooooo tired from her five hour nap.
i’m a teen about to get a doll faced persian kitten, i have a loving and playful 5 year old west highland terrier dog who has never met a cat before (so i’m assuming their meeting will go well considering she’s friendly) this cat will be my emotional support animal because i suffer with anxiety and sometimes fall into a depression along with having autism and ADHD
this will be my first cat i ever own, ive interacted with cats in several occasions and cats are my favorite animal, but id like some advice to give my kitty a great life,
i’m hoping to get a male from a new litter i’ve found who will be named Winnie (my dog is named belle so i thought to stick with the disney themed names lol and i also am a fan of Winnie the pooh)
my family has owned a cat before a good few years ago but it was an outside cat, but i’m hoping to keep mine an indoor cat knowing that their breed are usually stolen or in worry that he’ll get lost, ran over, or won’t come home to me.
my dogs favorite food is cheese lol so i’m making sure to make a list to go up on my wall so that he’s not fed cheese as i’m aware that cats cannot eat lactose as well as other foods
i’ve learned a lot about caring for cats but id like for some owners will experience with persians and cat care who have brought home a kitten before so that he’s comfortable in my home when adopted
and how to make new interactions comfortable, how to easily harness train, how to get him comfortable with a food brand/type, what foods are recommended (amount of kibble, fruits or veg), how to introduce him to my dog, how to litter train, how to get into a good routine (sleeping and eating) and what are things i can do to keep him healthy and happy.
i’ve researched a lot and know a lot about care but id like more advice incase I’ve missed out on some things!
i appreciate any advice or helpful messages :)
( please don’t criticise me or send hate towards me because i’d just like to learn how to give my cat the best life possible )
thanks 🙃
