6’2” soon to be twin dad looking for a car that doesn’t do 0-60 in an afternoon but still fits a car seat behind me
Twin girls arriving in September. Currently driving a BMW X3M40i and I love everything about it except the part where I test fitted a Nuna Pipa Aire behind my seat and had to move so far forward I was basically wearing the steering wheel.
My wife is 5’2”. Fitted perfectly behind her seat. She has not stopped smiling since.
She drives a Q5. Perfectly practical. Perfectly reasonable. I cannot be a reasonable person right now. She is growing two humans simultaneously and I need to win at least one thing in this household before September.
Test drove an SQ8 yesterday. Loved it. Didn’t bring the car seat because I’m an idiot. Going back with it but wanted to build a shortlist first.
What I need: something that fits two rear facing infant seats behind a 6’2” driver, still sounds good when you put your foot down, and doesn’t make me feel like I traded my soul for cargo space. Budget is flexible. Minivan is not on the table. I will not be discussing the minivan.
