really interested in the 7 series, but will bmw do anything ever abt their hideous pig grills?

i personally find the 7 series a lot more spacious than the s class.

but everytime i look at the face of 7 series, its just hideous and mes me want to take my eyes off it. rolls ghost is my dream car, but its way over my tax bracket.2026 looks better than the 2025 bmw. and i do think mercedes 2026 grill also looks worse than its last gen and their reliability has been downhill since 2020s.

other options i considered:
genesis g90 but not much dealership presence
lexus ls - not as comfortable or as special feeling as the s classs/7 series interior wise
audi a8- also doesnt feel as special as s/7 series.

and as a off note i also hate their vision alpina, it looks like a megatron that got his face punched in. like literally i really like how rollce royish it looks exceppt the part under the headlights. seriously its so sleed from the sides, back etc. but the face/jaw is just hideous asf.

Making $86.5k a year, want to spend $30k or less.

Not sure if that’s a reasonable budget, but the transmission in my current car is shot and the repair is as much as the kbb value. Looking for something reliable that I can keep for a long time, been considering a Camry or civic.

I make 75k a year, this is going to be my first car.

Which one is the absolute best in terms of Total cost of ownership? My budget is around 25k but if it’s worth I can stretch a bit. Please give me good suggestions.

New car for family of 3

Hello,

we are a family of 3 living in Greece and it is time to buy a new car as the Huyndai cannot be trusted for long trips. It will be used mostly around City with couple of longer trips during the year.

We are between Citroen C4 Tech Pack and Opel Frontera Plus both Hybrid 145.

My wife likes the Frontera more. I do like both. Which one do you think is the better choice? If we go for the Opel is it worth it to go for the GS edition? Anything that we should know about?

C4 and Frontera Plus costs approximately 25K while the GS is about 2500 more expensive.

What car says, "I'm a successful real estate agent, but not so successful you resent having to pay me"?

40-something woman, not a car person, leaving a twenty-three year career as a humanities professor to become a real estate agent. I'll need a car, and I want to send the right message: I'm successful enough to be trustworthy, but not so rich you feel like I'm fleecing you. (I'm not.) I'm thinking a small sedan: fun to drive, good gas mileage. Like less than a BMW 3-series but more than a Civic. I plan to drive it for a few years but don't need to keep it forever, and I'll probably put fewer than 8K mi on it per year. Budget of around $20K, the lower the better (humanities professor = no money).

I've been thinking Audi A3-- there seems to be a shocking number of 2019s-2022s with low miles in my price range. They're cute and sporty but not overly flashy or young-looking. But then I saw a 2019 Alfa Romeo Giulia for $18K (45K mi) and it looks pretty fun and now I don't know what to do.

So pretend you're looking for a house and you meet your new realtor when she pulls up outside the house she's showing you, driving a ______________.

(Editing to add a bit more pertinent information: I'm 5'10", so pretty tall for a lady. We also own a big family SUV I can use if I need to schlep clients around.)

Mazda CX3 vs 3 vs Corolla

Hi! I have been car searching and I am down to these three. Theyre all about $15k. This will be the first car that I am buying. I currently drive my family’s CX5 but need to return it soon.

  1. Mazda CX3: 2018, one owner, maintenance looks good, 70k miles. I am going to test drive one tomorrow. I think I am going to like the interior and being high up (I like both in the CX5). Also- it seems like everyone’s biggest complaint is the size but I want something smaller. The small backseats won’t bother me bc 90% of the time it is just me in the car and the other 10 is with one passenger. I live in LA so parking-wise it will be great.

  2. Corolla. 2017, 55k miles. 2 owners, second one has had it for 7 years and only put ~6k miles on it during. Maintenance records spotty but also seller says it is his mom’s (soo an older lady that cant drive anymore). Seems valid. He said new battery in January and tire treads look good, but doesnt know about other work like break pads. He occasionally changed oil for her and did it recently. I am also test driving this tomorrow. Obviously the most likely reliable one if everything checks out. But not the most luxury feeling on the inside.

  3. Mazda 3 Hatch. 2018. 70k miles. I dont know much about this one yet but I just found it and thought I should throw it into the mix. I do like this year of this model, but again it is lower to the ground. Don’t have car fax or really any detains yet.

So this is mainly between the top two. I love the CX5 and the interior and sitting higher up(I drove a 2008 Civic a year ago but it broke down). For me, the biggest things are reliability and comfort. I want low stress. I want to be sure this car will at least last me 5 years if I treat it right and do the correct maintenance. If this car lasts me 15 years, I will still have it and it will be my baby. Obviously I still need to test drive and that will tell me some more about how I feel, but I am between a known reliable car and something that feels more luxurious. Can I really go wrong?

Another note: is it always needed to get a PPI? if you inspect the car- including dipstick and other components and everything seems good, are the odds good?

Thank you. Just looking for insight.

What car shuld I buy (Budget 13-14L )

Hello everyone,

I’m planning to buy a new car in the next few days and would really love some suggestions from the community. Currently, I drive a Hyundai i10 Sportz, and after almost 12 years, I’m finally planning for an upgrade 😊

My budget is around ₹13 lakhs, and I’m specifically looking for an automatic car with mostly city usage. Since I’m moving from a manual to an automatic, my biggest priority is a smooth and comfortable drive within city limits.

The options currently on my mind are:

• Hyundai i20 Asta Knight Series (Petrol)
• Skoda Kylaq (Petrol)
• Toyota Taisor (Petrol)
• Toyota Glanza (Petrol)

For EVs, I’m considering:

• MG Comet EV
• Tata Punch EV

I’ve been getting mixed reviews about the Skoda Kylaq — especially regarding service costs, spare parts pricing, and long-term maintenance. Some owners say the driving experience is fantastic, while others mention expensive upkeep and inconsistent service experiences.

Similarly, for the Tata Punch EV, I’ve heard great things about the car itself but mixed feedback about Tata’s after-sales service experience.

Would really appreciate honest suggestions from owners or anyone who has driven these cars extensively. Please help me choose the best option for reliability, smooth city driving, comfort

What high end luxury vehicle would be a great buy used if you do all your own maintenance and repairs?

High end luxury vehicles depreciate like crazy after a few years. What would be considered a great or fun buy if you did all your own work and wanted to take advantage of the depreciation?

Irresponsible Driver's Car Under $60k

Figured this one may be a bit of a switch-up from the usual Miata/Camry propaganda around here.

I want to pick up a weekend car that is just a blast to drive. I want engagement (so preferably a stick shift, would consider a really engaging automatic like the Tremec in the new GT500s) and overall driver's feel and presence (unfortunately not something like a Miata, which lacks a little bit in the presence department). I have a reliable daily, so I really don't care if this new car is reliable or needs some mods to be brought to it's full potential, or has no back seats or trunk space or whatever else.

I am leaning towards a new-ish car, as I just got a quote for an auto loan from the bank and I can get a 5.2% loan for 2020+ vehicles and ~6% for 2016+, 2015 and older dips me down to 10% and I cannot do that, as much as I would gladly take out a loan for an old GT500 or C6Z06, valve drop be damned.

I personally value sound and emotion over everything. I am coming from a 2019 GT350, which was an absolutely phenomenal drivers car, but as a second car it would be really pushing my budget and it almost seems too daily-able to be a weekend car if that makes sense (I could just be coping to not get a second GT350.) I also used to have a 2012 GT500, and that car was fantastic. I drove a lot of sixth gen Camaros, including a ZLE, and I'm not a fan - they feel very numb and electronic, and the gobs of torque take away a lot of the fun driving, which sucks because they're very capable.

Very willing to hear out some opinions and even delve outside my comfort zone. I clearly have grown up around a lot of V8s and love them, but I can poke out if need be. TIA.

2013 Corolla S for $5500. Worth it?

Im 17 looking for my first car. I found this and it looks decent but has some red flags. Firstly its pretty high miles at 215k but got the engine replaced at 147k. Its also a salvage title but the seller says that was a “small accident” and was professionally repaired.

I asked the seller why the engine was replaced and their response was “because it needed to be”. The car looks nice and the interior looks clean, but wondering if this is too risky and if I should keep looking.

Looking for a new reliable truck...

So i am currently looking for a new car and have decided to get a midsize truck. Im coming from my first car ( 2015 Camaro RS) that i have drove daily since i got it. Im looking for a couple things 1. Reliable 2. Something that i can get in and go in. 3. Good gas mileage Mostly. I have narrowed it down to a couple trucks and im curious to hear some feedback on these on what you guys think.

  1. Ford Maverick- "Its not a body on frame." Shut up I dont care. This is the most affordable one and all around best choice for me. I drive about 35 miles round trip to work daily so the 40-45 mpg combined will be nice on my wallet given these gas prices. The Maverick can tow what i need it to tow when or if i ever need to tow anything and the bed should be big enough for me to put what i need to put in it. The interior is basic enough, a very much so company car aesthetic but has a good info screen more than enough for me. Im looking at the xlt hybrid around 33-35k. This is the only one i have test drove and was pretty impressed with. The only issue with this one is if i do go with the maverick it is a Ford and from my personal experience Ford has never been the most reliable brand. Growing up people always use to say buy a Chevy bc a Ford will always be in the shop. That and it also being a hybrid how will the hybrid system hold up in 10-15 years outside of the warranty on said system. I need this truck to last well over 100k miles and be able to handle a couple road trips with no hassle.

-Pros: Price, checks every box wants and needs wise

-Cons: Reliability concerns

  1. GMC Canyon- Middle Range option. Looking at the Elevation trim (40-43k) which looks really good. GMC and Chevrolet are both under the same company and i have had no mechanical or electrical issues with my Chevy Camaro in the 11 years i have owned it. Outside of the AC going out around 65-75k miles which i was quoted 3k to fix, and a clogged sunroof drain causing water to leak into the trunk. So while I have not had issues with reliability with my car i have had numerous negative experiences with the chevy dealership i got the car from when doing maintenance. That being said i am willing to compromise going with a GM product as i am going to do majority of the maintenance myself with this truck outside of mechanical or electrical. Plus MPG are a little worse than my Camaro I think they are 19/22 if i am not mistaken. But again im not struggling to pay for gas so im willing to compromise on spending more to have something i like more aesthetically.

-Pros: reliability credit, feels more like a truck, looks nicer

-Cons: More expensive, Gm product, bad MPG

  1. Toyota Tacoma- Most expensive option. This has been THE mid size truck i have wanted for the longest time. Looking at the TRD Sport trim with the 14inch screen in it. Prices i believe are around 47-50k. This was the truck i told myself i was going to get when it came time to getting a new car. I have heard nothing but great things about how reliable this truck is as well as most any toyota products so that is a big sell for me. If it is any truck i believe will and can last 15 years with constant daily use its this one. Only problem is the price is insane for these and almost hard to justify paying almost 15k more over the Ford Maverick. I believe these look the best exterior wise but also the most hideous on the inside. So i almost feel like I want this truck mostly for the reliability and status that comes along with owning a Tacoma. Plus I would want to customise it and put huge tires on it and make it look like all those super offroady trucks people post all over social media. But i dont really know if i want to pour the money into an already expensive truck just to make it look the way i want it too. Plus MPG are just as bad as the Canyons so theres that.

-Pros- Dream truck, looks the best, SUPER reliable.

-Cons- Expensive, hideous interior, bad MPG

So im curious if you could afford any of these trucks which would you go with and what do you guys think is the best truck for me.

CRV or RAV4 hybrid

I drive a GL450 now. It’s a beautiful car and I feel very safe in it, especially driving my family around.
It’s getting my close to the 130k mile range and I’m getting nervous about its lifespan. We take great care of it and hoping for the best! Nonetheless, it has got me thinking about the next vehicle purchase and I want it to be extremely reliable & safe for my family .. we really only ever use the first two rows . I also live in Cali where gas prices are insane so a hybrid would be so nice. I’m considering the RAV4 hybrid or CRV hybrid but my driving anxiety makes me question a small crumple zone behind the second row . I know neither has spectacular ratings by IIHS but I know their gas efficiency and reliability is good. Also looked into the MDX. Thoughts?

BMW 330 vs Genesis v70 vs Lexus IS 350 sport drive

I have been going between all three. I know the pros and cons, also the possible consequences x amount of years down the road.
The Lexus drove well but felt like an upgraded (very upgraded) Honda Civic. The interior was not that special.
The Genesis is a beautiful car. Eye catching. Drove well. Like the Lexus, the interior was not great. The doors felt hollow (like the Civic) where the BMW and Lexus have solid doors. Plus the Genesis dealership was meh as well as service reviews. (Hyundai service)
The BMW felt upgraded from those two. The inside is beautiful. Drove well. Faster. Quieter.
I didn’t test drive the Audi. Learned my lesson from previous ownership. Last BMW was 18 years ago and I should have learned my lesson, but hoping for a great hooray.

BMW it is . Any last words of wisdom?

My stepdad is selling me a ford fusion 2019 for 10k

It has

Which one would be the best deal and most reliable?

I’m looking at hopefully buying one of these three. Which one do you think would be most reliable? Is there one that I should cross out?

What sedans are we buying?

Sedans are not a focus for car companies anymore. Other than the standard civic or elantra, what are people who want a nice, grounded, lux sedan buying? Relatively newer but not brand new. 2-3 years.

Looking for logical luxury

I got a high paying job (took a LONG road to get there) and I want to treat myself to a nice and good car. Looking at 2022-2025. I haven’t had a car in 3 years. These are some of the things I want in the car

  1. Real luxury car with a very sleek, sexy, girl boss appearance

  2. SUV. I have always preferred SUV over sedans

  3. I don’t want a car where I will drown in maintenance costs

  4. Will prefer if I can at least get a hybrid (especially with gas prices). But this is negotiable

  5. Car with a good lifespan/longevity

  6. Good technology

  7. Remote start will be great 😩

Looking for to responses. Thank you!!

Affordable hybrid SUV?

Looking for some recommendations for an affordable & reliable SUV.

I currently drive an older Subaru Forester. I like it, I think the Forester is a good car and it’s the perfect size for me, but the maintenance on mine is starting to add up as I approach 200k miles. The car has had several major repairs (not just basic stuff which I can do myself) needed in the last year alone, plus, the body is fairly rusted out due to being from a cold weather area. With this in mind, I’ve been exploring some options and trying to see what’s out there that could possibly be a replacement.

Before anyone says “why not just get another Forester?” the answer is- because I’d really like a hybrid, and the Forester hybrid imo isn’t great enough range or proven enough reliability to justify dropping $40k on it. If anyone can convince me otherwise though I’m open to different perspectives lol.

So, all that said…any recommendations? I’m absolutely open to buying a reliable used car, or open to buying new, it just depends on the vehicle. FWIW I test drove a Rav4 recently and didn’t love the experience, but I know they’re best selling for a reason, so I won’t write it off entirely. Just was hoping for some other suggestions too.

TIA for your advice!
