AITA : coupled friends and HEAVY PDA
Friend and her husband are extremely affectionate.
Normally I’m not uncomfortable with PDA like hand holding, arm over shoulder and even cuddling. My friend and her husband take it to the next level. If he’s leaving the house they’ll makeout, sometimes with a booty grab. At dinner he’ll be rubbing her thigh so high it feels like he’s about to flick the bean. Etc etc
I’ve also noticed they display this way when I’m the only other person around (I have many times left the room to give them space). This past weekend I hung out with them plus another friend and their level of PDA was completely normal and comfortable.
The day after, as me and my friend sat on their porch, it got chilly and she asked her husband to turn on the heating post. The post was having problems so he came out about 3 times over 20 mins. Each time he fixed it they kissed (just a quick kiss nothing crazy) before he left.
I have joking mentioned to my friend about how much PDA they display. That didn’t do anything, so once when she said his PDA was making HER uncomfortable in a certain setting I let her know, as clearly as I could, how uncomfortable it made me. She acknowledged it and yet it didn’t change when I saw them next.
I haven’t been in a good relationship for a long time (tough market, am I right) and I personally don’t like to feel my partner up in public and enjoy my personal space. Am I overreacting? Have I become a prude? Do I need to loosen up here? AITA???
