I guess we found out where she kept cal’s wedding gift

I guess she’d rather hang up a wall of Sonny angels or a huge painting of guy in a suit serving a girl in a bikini vs a gift your husband got you to remember your wedding day.

We love your taste rem. (Tho the paining looks kinda bad tho lol)

Old vs the new handles.. IM SORRY IF ITS NITPICKY but the old handles were so much better 🥲

At this point, Im just along for the ride. I genuinely can't wait to see how much more value she can strip from her $6million home.

Local Pilates Studio says I owe ~$2,000 in failed membership payments. What should I do?

** I posed this on Singapore FI but they advised my to post here instead**

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice because I’m not sure what my options are here.

In September last year, I signed up for a weekly Pilates membership package that cost S$69 per week (with a 12 week minimum) at a local Pilates studio. I attended two classes during the first week, but realised the studio wasn’t really a good fit for me so I cancelled the card linked to the membership after the first week not thinking it would be a big deal as their contract stated:

“Payment failures may result in immediate suspension or termination of services.”

Based on that wording, I understood it to mean that if payment failed, the membership could be suspended or terminated. Since I wasn’t attending any more classes anyway, I didn’t think much of it.

In January this year, I received a nicely worded email from the studio saying that:
- my payments had been failing
- asking whether I wanted them to cancel the membership.

Looking back, I should have replied. At the time, I interpreted the email as them checking whether I still wanted the membership and that cancellation was a simple administrative matter, so I ignored it.

Fast forward to June, and I received another email stating that they had now cancelled my membership and that I owed approximately S$2,000 in outstanding membership fees from the accumulated failed payments.

I was honestly shocked by the amount. I haven’t attended a single class since that first week and had assumed the failed payments would eventually result in the membership being stopped, especially given the wording in the contract and the January email.

What can I do? I feel like just going to the studio directly and talking to them about this misunderstanding. I mean, they are a very nice studio and people genuinely but it wasn’t suitable for me at the time

I was reading some threads saying they will bring out a red letter from debt collectors or sue me.

Thanks in advance for any advice. I’m quite stressed about this and would really appreciate hearing from people who have dealt with something similar in Singapore.

Nice comments please, I’m new here :’)
