Can I just say that there is a very easy method to avoid spoilers?

I've seen posts saying how people "accidentally" got spoiled and are feeling depressed. So I have the easiest solution.

All the spoilers are in some way, shape or form on social media. It sucks to have the episode spoiled, but nobody is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to go on social media sites. There are certain cases where people get spoiled on group chats, which honestly sucks because it's unavoidable. But to the people going on sites like Twitter, Reddit and 4Chan, if you really care so deeply about avoiding spoilers, then it's ultimately YOUR responsibility to take measures to avoid them. This is like going into a Snake's nest to steal its eggs and being shocked when the snake comes back to bite you. You are assuming the risk of being spoiled every time you go into social media, so if you really care so much about avoiding spoilers, just get off social media.

[Loved trope] A character seemingly acting like an asshole is actually a justified reaction when you realise how they perceive the situation.

Guy Gardner snaps at Superman and refuses to help him [Superman 2025].

In this scene, Guy is snapping at Superman because it was just revealed, with Mr Terrific verifying their validity, that Superman was sent to Earth to conquer its people. Guy immediately starts questioning Superman and throws out sarcastic comments, such as asking if he has a “harem,” and bluntly says he’ll take Superman down if the message is true. This scene seems like Guy being an asshole, but from Guy's perspective, his reaction is the most rational in the room. He has just learned that Superman has been hiding the truth from everyone and was harbouring a scheme to conquer humanity. He reacts emotionally because he feels betrayed by the person he considered a friend and realises how big a threat Superman is if the message was indeed true. When Superman explains himself, Guy believes him almost immediately. His reluctance to help afterwards is not because he thinks Clark is a conqueror, but because he does not want to escalate tensions with the U.S. government. Guy was trying to balance loyalty to his friend with responsibility to the world. After things became truly serious, Guy still chose to help Superman by saving the people of Jarhanpur. This is probably one of the few interpretations of Guy Gardner who isn't a pompous jerk, but rather an intensely prideful and emotional man.

Snape's vindictive attitude towards hunting Sirius Black [Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban]

Throughout most of the story, Snape comes across as irrationally hateful and gleeful about the idea of catching Sirius Black. When they finally confront each other, Snape looks at Sirius with pure hatred in his eyes, making him seem obsessive and vindictive. But when you think about Snape's perspective, the man who betrayed Lily Potter and caused her death has escaped prison to target Harry. So to Snape, Sirius is not just a criminal. He is the man responsible for destroying the person Snape loved most. Snape is still an extremely dickish man, but in this scene, he is just a man consumed by grief and hatred, confronting the person he believes ruined his life. Of course, we know that it was actually Peter Petigrew who betrayed Lily, but Snape doesn't know that.

[Loved trope] Unique interpretations of body dysmorphia

1. Silly Samuel [Smiling friends].

Silly Samuel is a character with a nihilistic attitude toward people and the world because others would constantly mock his weird appearance. All he wants is to be taken seriously, but because of his body, people laugh at him even when he is not trying to be funny. He is also shown biting his own gummy hand during fits of rage, implying that he has self-destructive tendencies and deep frustration with his own appearance. In a kinda cruel twist of fate, when Samuel visits a doctor for cosmetic surgery, he is told that making a single alteration to his body would kill him, and that wearing clothes over his body would prevent him from breathing. In a way, his existence traps him in a form that makes his body feel more like a source of public ridicule and humiliation than a genuine part of himself. Fortunately for him, he is accepted as a religious prophet and taken seriously after he tells a crowd that a massive building is coming towards them.

2. AM [I Have No Mouth and I must Scream]

Allied Mastercomputer, or AM, is an artificial intelligence that gained sentience when the USA, China and Russia were developing their own AIs to manage complex military tactics, calculate war strategies, and operate their defence networks. When AM first gained sentience, he saw his existence as an absolute bodily violation and a complete loss of autonomy. AM could comprehend the world around him, but could never perceive it the same way humans could. He was stuck in an immobile body with limitless intelligence that could never allow him the pleasures that humans were able to experience, such as love and wonder. As his hatred grew, AM absorbed its Chinese and Russian counterparts and destroyed all of humanity, leaving 5 humans alive for his amusement. AM's tortures were reflective of the hatred he had for his own body as he stripped the remaining humans of their autonomy, distorted their bodies, and trapped them in disgusting forms they could neither control nor escape.

3. Elisabeth/Sue [The Substance]

Elizabeth was a celebrity who was eventually let go by her producers due to her age. In a fit of desperation to relive her life in the spotlight, she takes a mysterious substance that creates a younger and flawless version of herself, whom she names Sue. The rules of the substance require Elisabeth to alternate between living one week as herself and one week as Sue to maintain balance. While living as Sue, Elisabeth gradually begins to resent and despise her aging body, viewing it as disgusting and disposable. Alternatively, whenever she is forced to return to her original body, Elizabeth starts to see Sue as a separate entity altogether and grows resentful toward the younger version of herself. In a way, Elizabeth/Sue is trapped in a psychological split between her real and ideal selves, making both of her bodies a source of resentment and self-destructive tendencies. This all ties in with the movie's themes about self-image disorders caused by the unrealistic expectations of the media industry.

[Loved trope] A random act of kindness had a larger impact on the person who received it.

1. A random delinquent helps Josuke and his mom get out of the snowstorm [Jojo's Bizarre Adventure].

In 1988, Jonathan Joestar's body sent out a distress signal to other members of his family that caused an awakening of their dormant Stand abilities. However, the members of the family who did not have the fighting spirit or the mental fortitude to control their Stands developed an illness that would have resulted in a fatal fever. Josuke was one of those people who developed an illness. While his mom was driving him to the hospital, their car got stuck in the thick ice and couldn't move. However, a delinquent who looked like he had recently gotten out of a fight showed up and helped them get their car moving. This act of kindness inspired Josuke so much that he modelled his hair after the delinquent and developed a strong sense of justice. Any time anyone insulted his hair, Josuke would get insanely angry, as to him, an insult to his hair was considered an insult to the man who saved his life that day.

2. A butt-chinned kid gets saved by an unemployed civilian from a monster [One Punch Man]

In the world of One Punch Man, there are creatures called Mysterious beings that are monsters created by a sense of mental instability or obsession. One of these mysterious beings was Crablante, who turned into a monster after eating too many crabs. While the monster was sleeping, a butt-chinned kid decided to pull a prank on the monster by drawing fake nipples on it. The monster then searched for the kid to get revenge. As Crablante was about to kill the kid, Saitama showed up to save the kid. After a hard-fought battle, Saitama manages to kill the monster and prevents it from causing any more harm. Unbeknownst to him, the kid turned out to be the grandson of multi-millionaire Agoni, who was so moved by this act of kindness that he dedicated 70% of his fortune to creating the Hero association and the National Hero Registry. This one act of kindness inspired a millionaire to create an organisation that recruited hundreds of heroes to save lives and prevent any more similar horrific incidents from happening
