The finale really exposed the transphobes in this fandom lol

Alright I’ve had enough

I’m honestly getting really tired of Jax being confirmed as trans. And I’m not even transphobic. What I’m tired of is ALL THIS FUCKING FIGHTING, with people who just don’t agree with the theory itself being called transfphobic myself included.

First of all, we, people who disagree with this, usually ARE NOT TRANSPHOBIC. I REPEAT, USUALLY ARE NOT. I’m sure there are some people who are, but we mainly dislike it because of the following:

  1. It felt rushed. when the whole “Daisy” oc trend was happening, Goose said she liked this head cannon. A. Head. Cannon. Then the moment the show is over, she makes the post with Jax with hair and the thought bubble of Pomni and Ribbit. It just feels so out of place!!
  2. It over simplifies what Jax was SUPPOSED to represent. And in more ways than one. Jax is meant to be a complex character, so slimming it all down to “he’s toxic because he’s closeted” make it all just “that’s it?” I love Jax BECAUSE of how complex he is. This just makes him seem so one dimensional. This is like saying that I, a person who is stubborn and often anxious in group situations, am only that way because I am neurodivergent, not because of any possible trauma I may or may not have had!
  3. The “subtle hints”. Bruh. JUST BECAUSE RIBBIT PUT A BOW ON HIS HEAD DOESN’T MEAN HE’S TRANS!! Further more, many other “hints” at his fragile masculinity does NOT automatically mean he’s trans. A cis gendered man CAN HAVE fragile masculinity!! THEY ARE NOT MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE THINGS. Also, the maid dress? Yeah, I’m a cis gendered woman, and if I suddenly got put in that outfit, I WOULD HAVE ACTED THE EXACT SAME WAY AS HIM. Further more, if Goose wanted to keep these implications subtle and leave it up to viewer interpretation, she shouldn’t have confirmed in the post I previously stated.
  4. Less potential for heterosexual ship representation. This one seems weird, but just listen to me. I know not all of us are into shipping, and this may sound homophobic, but I have to get this off my chest. First of all, with the idea of Jax being trans makes FunnyBunny, my fav ship, into yuri. While that is fine, it hurts to see one only one straight couple in the whole show, that being Checkmate, with its only problem is that we don’t get to see them interact for nearly the entire show. To add salt to the wound, (this is not to stir up drama, I just want to get it off my chest) I saw one of my fav creators make “Fans when FunnyBunny goes from heteroslop to yuri”. “Heteroslop”. I hate that. It hurts. Like, really hurts.

I’m sorry if anything comes off as mean or rude or harsh, but I’m so sick and tired of all of this. If you made it this far, thank you for reading. Really, I mean it.

Edit: guys, I’m aware he’s confirmed as trans. I don’t MIND that he’s trans. I don’t mind that that GOODE CONFIRMED HIM AS TRANS. What I care about is how last minute it felt. That’s all I’m saying.

I love the detail throughout episode 8, when the other players look at Caine in fear, Jax is consistently shown glaring at him in anger and hatred

Addressing r/thatstupidbunnywehate

So, as a person who generally likes Jax and sees themself in her, but does not in any way like her actions, I can't deal with this subreddit. A good amount of it is addressing claims made by Jax fans, which is good. Nothing should be exempt from critique, even things you like. But some of the people in this subreddit wish the worst things upon Jax, like things I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy.

I understand hating a character because they took up too much screentime, or because their actions are detestable, but I feel like a good amount of people are using one aspect being bad as an excuse to hate the character for reasons that aren't related to the aspect they hate.

(For context, I saw a post saying with a picture of Jax having his skin torn out, and the poster was saying that the cast should've done this to Jax. I feel like some forms of torture should only be used once or not at all.)

Edit: I have muted the sub, I've just been wanting to yap about this for a good bit.
