Hey! I just got my acceptance into Tisch film production as a transfer coming in at junior and I'm equal parts hyped and terrified.
My biggest concern is coming in as a transfer. most people will have two years of relationships, crews, and shorthand already built up. How hard is it to break into the social/collaborative side of things mid-program? Is there an unspoken transfer experience I should know about?
Also practically speaking - jumping straight into upper-level production courses without the first two years of Tisch foundation, is that a rough adjustment or do they ease you in?
And the big question everyone seems to ask: does Tisch actually open doors in the industry, or is it mostly on you to network and hustle outside of school? It so, what are the best resources - internships, festivals, clubs - that Tisch/NYU students actually use to get their foot in?
