Would you rather buy from a 100% vegan company or a large corporation offering a newly vegan product?

i believe this is a grey area and not a black and white vegan / nonvegan question, but I’m curious about vegan purchasing habits within vegan products.

which do you weigh the highest:

  • the company has always been vegan since founding and has all vegan products
  • the product has what you perceive as the best qualities or best value
  • the company is an industry giant that is historically non vegan but is now offering vegan products

obviously, we’re all already doing a lot as vegans, but I’m just curious what secondary factors matter most to us as a group.

personally, I’ve bought a lot of Dove products ever since they stopped testing on animals and started offering vegan items and I like to think it’s good to show large corporations that there are financial benefits for them to stop torturing animals (though I know they do still sell non vegan items). I think all vegans enjoy going to a 100% vegan restaurant as well, but I assume there is some variety of preferences within our group.

Periodically deleting your entire history is the best way to use youtube

A few weeks ago, I started getting a lot of video recommendations for videos of influencers and streamers I do not enjoy presumably because I watched one video of a streamer at some point.

Rather than removing those individual videos from my history or doing anything else. I just deleted my entire viewing history and lo and behold, it is refreshing. Keep all the subscriptions you like, but the fresh algorithm allows you to curate what you want to see on a weekly or daily basis much better. Wake up one day and want to focus on learning to draw? delete your history and watch one drawing video. watch your algorithm and all recommendations become art tutorials. wake up one day and want a focus on true crime? delete your history and watch one true crime video. it just feels much more focused on the thing you actually give a shit about and not some other shitty video you accidentally let play one time.

Is veganism compelling to you if you accept there’s no chance of a vegan world within the next few generations?

Just curious, I feel like a lot of vegans I meet are all or nothing lately, but I do think it can be a compelling philosophy even accepting it will not be adopted by the majority of people.
