Transitioning to international roles (VA/Operations) with a background in Organizational Psychology — Tips & Connections

Hi everyone,

I'm a licensed Psychologist based in Brazil with a background in management, leadership, and workplace health & safety (NR1 regulations).

I am currently working on expanding my career internationally, aiming to transition into remote roles such as Virtual Assistant or Operations Support to gain hands-on experience with international business logistics and labor frameworks.

To prepare for this step, I am actively improving my English (currently around B1/B2 level).

I’d love to connect with professionals who have made a similar transition from specialized regional fields to global remote roles.

Looking forward to hearing your insights and expanding my network! Feel free to connect or drop a comment.

Transitioning to remote VA / Ops roles with a Psychology background — Where to look and action plan?

Hi everyone,

I’m a Psychology professional based in Brazil with native Portuguese and intermediate English (EF SET B1). I’m actively looking to break into the international remote market.

To be realistic with my current English proficiency, my strategy is to start in Virtual Assistant (VA), Operations Support, or Administrative roles, where I can leverage my strong organizational skills and heavy written communication while continuing to develop my fluency.

I am completely open to flexible schedules and working night shifts or across different time zones.

My Background & Core Toolkit:

  • Background: Clinical and organizational psychology internships, remote clinical intake, data and documentation management, and situational/organizational diagnostics.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced MS Excel, Canva, data management, and foundations in People Analytics, Performance Management, and Occupational Health.
  • Soft Skills: High attention to detail, handling sensitive/confidential information, client/patient communication, and process organization.

I’m already very active on LinkedIn and am now starting to engage here on Reddit. I would love some direct advice from people who have successfully taken this path.

Thanks in advance for any insights or tips!
