Cobberdogs and Tamarukes — how to respond?

Has anyone else encountered a trend where dog owners don’t seem aware that their dog is an oodle? I keep meeting people who tell me their dog is purebred and that it’s a tamaruke or a cobberdog, but when I look up these dogs they seem to just be oodles branded as something different. Like breeders are saying these are new breeds and owners are just taking them at their word. I’ve asked these people further questions like “is it a type of retriever? what group of dogs is it in?” and often get the response “they’re therapy dogs” and it kind of seems like some of these owners don’t even know the basic dog groups. This really bothers me because I’m pretty sure these are poodle mixes with all the same unethical breeding issues poodle mixes have generally. (I don’t have an issue with mixed breed dogs, but I do have an issue with unethical breeding and people who support unethical breeders.) But I’m Autistic and I know sometimes when I take accuracy too seriously it bothers other people… but I often don’t realise until it’s too late. How do other people feel about this? How do you deal with it? Am I wrong for being so bothered by this?

Going down from 30mg to 20mg

Hello! I’ve been on citalopram for eight years (mostly 20mg) and went up to 30mg about five years ago. My doctor told me about a month ago that I should reduce my dosage to 20mg but was kind of lax on advice about this — when I asked if I should taper it gradually she said if I wanted I could take 30mgs one day, 20mgs the next, so it would even out to 25mgs, for about a week before going down to 20mgs. I’ve been trying to do this for a couple of weeks but finding it pretty hard — I’ve had dreadful headaches and am thinking of going back up to 30mgs just to avoid them but also would like to be on 20mgs eventually if possible. Does anyone have any advice? Is this normal?

Where to watch Making The Team in Australia?

Hello! I’ve been watching the Netflix show over the past few years and recently started reading this subreddit and would now like to watch the CMT show, Making the Team. I’ve found seasons 15 and 16 on a questionable website but can’t find any of the other seasons anywhere. I can find posts saying where to watch it in the US but can’t find anything about accessing it in Australia — does anyone know a service or streaming site? I’d especially like to watch the Cassie Trammell seasons as I’ve read they’re especially interesting…

Puppy won’t calm down since her post-spay restrictions ended

My terrier puppy is 1.5 years old and was spayed three weeks ago. She wanted to run and jump a lot in the immediate aftermath but the vet gave me trazadone to calm her down and that was fine. I assumed she just wanted to run and play because she was doing so less than usual, but it’s been over a week since she’s been allowed to resume regular activities and she just will not calm down. She has a schedule that in the past has been quite successful — she goes for a short walk first thing in the morning then naps for an hour before going on a long walk (one hour), then naps until early afternoon when she usually chews something or just potters around a little by herself and goes back to sleep until 4 or 4.30 when she gets either another long walk (one hour) or a play with her friends before dinner and calming down for the evening. for the last week she just won’t calm down during the day, though— she whines and whines until she gets an extra walk, climbs on me to try to get me to stop working (I work from home… or try to). She is crate trained but we haven’t used the crate during the day since she was about eight months old… I’ve tried once again putting her in her crate with a chew but she just ignores the chew and howls and rattles at the bars. I’ve tried giving her puzzles and she’ll pay attention while she does them (about five minutes) but then afterwards just goes back to trying to get me to take her for a walk. Sometimes I think she wants to go to the bathroom so I take her out quickly just in case but she just grabs sticks to play with and refuses to come back inside. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is it because she spent ten days resting? I’m quite perplexed by this — it’s such a dramatic change I hadn’t expected.

How essential is it to keep puppy’s crate once she gets older?

I crate trained my puppy and she slept in there for her first nine months before coming to sleep in my bed. She still has access to it, with the door removed, but she’ll only choose to go in there if I’m in the bathroom and I think this is because it’s the closest bed to the bathroom rather than because she’s attached to it. My apartment is quite small and I don’t have anywhere I can store it really. I’m thinking about getting rid of it and replacing it just with a normal bed for her, but not sure whether I’ll regret this — has anyone else been in this situation? what did you do?
