can we acknowledge how pretty Sophy, Kylie and kelly are these pics? omg
Facecards are SO lethal.

Facecards are SO lethal.
Do we have any updates on how the girls are doing in training camp so far? Last year, I feel like there were some updates on who was doing well and who was struggling
I see so many hateful comments towards the cheerleaders for speaking about their faith, while I understand it may seem excessive to most non-religious people, most people are forgetting that the main 3 things that Texas cares about are God, Football, and BBQ. For these cheerleaders to be in one of the most highly populated Christian states, it makes total sense that God is one of the main topics of conversation.
Not to mention cheerleaders like Reece, who is from Alabama; this is what she grew up with, and what has been guiding her through her struggles since she tried out for DCC. She isn't going to change how she navigates struggles just because of what internet trolls say online.
I know to some, especially international viewers, it may come off as strange, but please remember this is how most of the girls were brought up - this is their NORM.
On making the team they show a file organizer with the title "noodle" on Kelli's desk. Does anyone know what that means? It's been driving me crazy and I tried googling it and searching the sub but I couldn't find anything. 😂😂😂 I'm just curious as to what it means or symbolizes for them.
On episode six of this season and am loving how Kelly and Judy are being so much more kind and loving to the team than we’ve seen in previous seasons! Just thought I’d add some positivity to the group!!
What are other positives from the season you’ve noticed?!
I’m really frustrated that they not only succumb to reading threads on various social media apps about the women on their teams, but that they seem to have some fundamental misunderstandings about how outlandish things online can become. The interaction during training camp with Faith really bothered me, and I worry that with Kelli and Judy being older, that they can’t spot a photo someone posted versus an unflattering screenshot from a video. These things are rather easy for younger folks to decipher, but the literacy isn’t fully there for older generations.
Take AI, now, too, and it’s just a recipe for more misunderstandings.
I also found Judy’s sentiment of “oh, we try not to read things” to be entirely disingenuous. I think the filmmakers cutting to the pair of them speculating about gossip was spot on after Judy made her claim.
If anything, I find their speculations and engagement with the content to be what’s unprofessional.
— EDIT: I left this in a comment but I’ll add it here too! Will leave the original post above unedited.
I think some people are reading my post as “older people are incapable of understanding social media,” which isn’t what I meant BUT is what I ended up saying – so the ageism is a fair criticism.
My point is that digital literacy is a learned skill. People who have spent 20+ years immersed in internet culture tend to recognize things like misleading screenshots, rage bait, engagement farming, selectively clipped videos, and now AI more intuitively because we’ve had years of exposure to those patterns. That’s a difference in experience NOT intelligence.
There are actually studies showing that digital literacy training improves people’s ability to identify manipulated images and misinformation, particularly among older adults. That doesn’t mean older adults can’t learn it, it just means these are acquired skills.
My criticism wasn’t that Kelli and Judy are older women. It was that, in leadership positions where social media can affect people’s careers, they appeared to give weight to online speculation without demonstrating the level of media literacy I’d hope for. Those are two very different critiques.
And to be clear, I’m not arguing that representatives of a brand shouldn’t be thoughtful about what they post. I’m talking about the current ease with which photos, screenshots, cropped videos, and AI can remove context or create misleading narratives. Leaders evaluating that kind of material need to be especially careful before drawing conclusions!
Can someone explain to me what the difference was between Faith doing interviews and podcasts, where she openly talks about dcc and the process and it being a problem vs when other dcc do stuff of that sort and openly talk about dcc but it’s not a problem? Or was there more to faiths interviews that they saw a problem with 🧐
I know football season start and end. But for those that retire and hang their uniforms up it seems they still go on do press and appearances. So when someone retires when does their run actually end? Right when auditions start for rookies for the next season or before then?
Im relatively new to the DCC world and I love reading unpopular opinions. I don’t want this to get mean spirited, just a bit of fun. Mods are very welcome to delete if this post is too low effort etc, just thought it might be a fun conversation starter.
Okay here’s my unpopular opinion to start things off:
I think the 90s uniform with the v shape on the shorts were better than the shorts now. The shorts now are too short, ill shaped and require the cheerleaders to be very very very lean, I’m sure it’s really hard to maintain. I think the uniform overall is kind of ugly (lol) but it’s very iconic so I do still love it.
For anybody who sends out hate and rude comment on reddit, how do yall feel when the girls talk about Reddit being a horrible thing to be on?
I like catching up all things DCC gossip as I fall asleep. Last night I had a dream I tried out for a cheer squad. But in my dream it was a high school team, but filled with all our favorite DCC’s with Kelli and Judy running the team. And even in my dream I was regular 48 year old me with no formal dance training. Don’t ask why I was trying out for any cheer squad, let alone a high school one—it was a dream and there is no logic to it. Anyway, at some point I decided drinking before tryouts would help my chances. But Kelli Finglass caught me and I got a total Kelli lecture while also being “cut” without trying out.
Anyway, probably should find other things to fall asleep to.
In season 3 of AS (sorry can’t remember what episode) Karley mentions to K&J she feels like shes on the verge of a tear, even if she had gone to PT it wouldn’t have fixed it. Back in season one Kelli says “Best case scenario the veterans are the highest scores”, do we think that Karley could’ve still been somewhat injured and therefore not gotten the judges votes necessary to make it to training camp?
I just finished watching season 3 and was wondering why it was kinda taboo to even mention Morgan's name? She wasn't in the show more than like, 5 times. We never saw any of her feedback, or opinions on her at all. And I personally think she was the strongest rookie, it was pretty obvious.
I was wondering if it was because she didn't sign a release to the show or smth? Or, if it was smth about her as a person. Don't get me wrong, she is a GREAT dancer, but I graduated same class at ASU as her and was in another sorority and she was known to be kinda uptight and mean. Basic rich blonde, who was kinda out of tune with reality. I actually watched season 3 because I saw her get DCC and wanted to see on the show if she actually was what people said. I've only ever seen her in passing. I wonder if they chose her not to be on the show because of her personality, or if she came off wrong.
Does anyone know why they never mentioned Morgan?? She's gorgeous, so I feel like she would be one to show a lot. But idk.
As I was re-watching AS I noticed they use AT&T stadium pretty frequently during training camp. With the World Cup taking over until mid-July, I wonder how limited access to the stadium is affecting training camp this year. Plus, after the last WC game, they still have to pull up the natural grass and all that infrastructure, reconfigure the stadium for NFL and reinstall the playing surface.
Anna Kate is such a beautiful dancer! I don’t understand all the hate she receives, I feel like we took the conversation with her and McKenna about pay out of context. She seems like such a wonderful person and is a beautiful dance technician, her rookie solo is one of the prettiest dances I’ve seen!
