I 21/M and my girlfriend 22/F have been together for 5 years the 1st year of us being together she transferred to another university a hour away. And I’ve been the one to drive to go see her but she doesn’t do the same because she doesn’t have a car and I’m okay with that. I recently got accepted to another university that’s 3 hours away and for months I’ve been feeling lonely and overwhelmed about our relationship due to our distance. I still have the same feelings for her but at this point in my time I would like to take time to myself and focus only on me for now. When she told her mom about me going to a school 3 hours away her mom told her she can’t go to visit me because she’ll be sleeping in a “boys” apartment. Her mother is a very religious person and I respect her. But I’m not to sure if she’ll visit me like I visit her. For some months now I’ve been telling her I’ve been feeling lonely due to long distance. I truly want this to relationship to work out in the long run but right now I would like to take time and focus on myself so hopefully we can be more stable in the long run. Just need advice if I’m doing something wrong or right.
