Should I add my kids to a protective order? (AZ)

Thinking about adding kids to a protective order I believe I need for myself. I am afraid that after a no contact order from the court ends, he will attempt to move back into our house. I am sure he believes that we can work things out but I finally am free and I am not going to give that up. I am not getting back with him and I am working on the next steps of that. I want to file a protective order but can't decide if it's worth adding my kids. He is a great dad, and they haven't seen him in a while and they are struggling. He has never harmed them, nor do I believe he will. He has never liked me and frankly I feel he used me as a vessel for babies anyways. I have people who would meet him so the kids could see him, but obviously if I add them to my PO that isn't possible. The kids do not understand the severity of the situation as they are young and I am hoping to keep it that way until things are less in the air and I can sit down and explain the next steps of our life. What would you do? My friends think there's always the possibility of him taking them and keeping them from me, but they aren't school aged and he values his job more than maybe them? So I'm sure he wouldn't take the if it meant taking a day off or losing his job. His job is his entire life, and has always taken priority even over the kids
