Japanese guy here — which traditional Japanese items would you actually use in your daily life?
Hi! I'm Japanese and I live in Japan. I'm planning to write about everyday life in Japan in English, and I'm curious how people outside Japan feel about our traditional everyday items.
For example:Tenugui (thin cotton hand towel),Furoshiki (cloth for wrapping and carrying things),Jinbei / samue (cotton loungewear),Noren (fabric curtain for doorways),Furin (glass or metal wind chime),Kotatsu (heated table with a blanket),Handmade ceramics, like yunomi tea cups,Geta (wooden sandals)
Which of these would you actually use at home in your country? Why?
Which ones feel more like a souvenir or a costume than something for daily life?
What stops you from buying or using them? (price, size, shipping, "is it okay for me to use it?", not knowing how to use it, anything)
Is there any other Japanese item you already use every day?
My English isn't perfect, sorry. Blunt answers are totally fine!
