Where did my baby go?!

My almost 10 month old girl just moved up to 18 month clothes. We started daycare in summer and they want the kids in separates so I bought a bunch of shirts and shorts for her.

Anyway I dressed her in a shirt and shorts and she walked around in her push walker and is now playing independently in front of me. She looks like a little kid! Where did my baby go?!?! I wasn't ready for this!

Encouragement for exclusive contact nappers (that don't want to be)

Hello,

I just thought I'd write some encouragement.

I exclusively contact napped with my baby until she was about 6-7 months. About 90% of the time it was by choice, but sometimes I didn't want to but I was terrible at putting her down. When she was around 6-7 months she started being fine crib napping, and we switched to that roughly half the time. She naps 100% in the crib now, because as of about 8 months, my body heat became too much for her and she was clearly getting hot napping on me.

So many people would say unhelpful things, and would make me feel super nervous about putting her in daycare (she starts in summer), or like I was doing something wrong.

They are dumb. Don't listen to them. Every kid is different, and honestly, I miss being nap trapped sometimes. Seriously though, there aren't teenagers or adults who have to be cuddled the entire time in order for them to sleep. Logically the contact napping will reach a natural conclusion.

Stay strong and good luck out there fellow parents. We are all doing our best, you deserve grace too!
