I have had my Wegovy prescription in hand for a week but I have been nervous about starting. I am in my mid-50s, right at 5’ tall and about 180 pounds. I have had health issues such as high cholesterol and a fatty liver, therefore, the medical need for Wegovy.

You would think I would be excited to start, but I keep hesitating. I was traveling last week, but now I am home and I am still not taking the medication.

I think that part of it is fear of the side effects, but I think I am probably mostly afraid of losing part of who I am. I love food and I love wine. I know they aren’t great for me, but I enjoy them and I’m not sure what I am going to substitute for that. Will I still fit in with my friends and loved ones?

I know I am spiraling.

I’m having a left and right catheterization tomorrow and am nervous as hell. I want to feel better but I am scared to get a stent in my body
