Starting Wegovy Pill

Hi everyone! I'm based in the UK and I'm starting the Wegovy Pill (1.5mg) soon. I haven't told anyone because I'm scared of judgment, but I want to do the right thing for my health and well-being.

Are there any tips you could share? Taking Supplements alongside it? Anything that reduces/helps with side effects? How did you tell friends/family?

I would really appreciate it :) Thanks in advance ❤️

Positive vibes for 25!

Hi! Looking for those who advanced to 25 w minimal or no side effects. I’m trying to work up the nerve to increase my dose but am worried about being sidelined w side effects since I have a busy week ahead!

Started 1.5mg a week ago, being bumped to 4 next week

Hi, I've already lost about 9lbs (officially, my start weight was 407 but the first pill weigh day was actually 417, then the next two days later said 406 so going with the lower one). The 1.5mg has slowed a lot of food noise and I'm making better choices like only one cup of iced coffee in the AM, yogurt or a protein shake instead of doordash and lots of water instead of soda. I'm using Hers and my question is should I just stop the 1.5mg when the 4mg arrives or continue til it's gone then take the 4? I officially got the pills 6/27 even though I qualified a week before that which is probably why they said 4mg would ship 7/16 I just don't know how to ease the transition. Any thoughts? Ty in advance.

Gaining?!!

I've been doing pretty well since starting this journey in January. I've been on 4mg for 6 months now. I finally got to onederland and experienced being down 40lbs for a couple days. Then I've slowly started gaining the past few days. I haven't changed what I'm eating or how I'm eating. I don't do anything special for the holiday. The only difference is I had 1 cookie and thought I did enough to work that off, you know? Surely it can't be that?? Anyone else experience this? Feeling deflated.

Any success stories about stopping the meds?

Title says it. I’m interested to know if anyone has taken GLP1s, met or approached their goal, and stopped taking them with good results. Did the weight come piling back on?

I’ve gained some weight over the last 7 months following a back injury that laid me up in December and some heavy emotional eating after the unexpected loss of my mother in April. Im hoping to use the lower doses (and lifestyle changes, and therapy) to gain some momentum toward getting myself back on the right path with no intention of the meds being permanent. Is this realistic?

Starting 1.5 tomorrow morning either way. Wish me luck…

What's your advice: Month 1 1.5 mg, Month 2 - 4 mg, Month 3 ...... ??

I'm about seven weeks into this journey and feeling the intended effect and happy with my result on 4 mg. I need to order my next bottle - anyone have a recommendation of staying on the same dose or increasing?

What to eat on 25mg to prevent nausea!

I'm currently on 25mg of the Wegovy Pill and have been for about 5 weeks. It is working, but the only thing that has been rough is the nausea. (Which I hadn’t experienced until the 25mg pill!)

I feel nauseous almost every day, and it seems like it happens with no rhyme or reason (or at least I haven't been able to pinpoint the trigger yet). I feel nauseous sometimes when I haven't eaten, sometimes right after I eat, or sometimes a while after l have eaten. Sometimes I think it might be when I'm hungry that I feel nauseous, but other times I wonder if it was something | ate. I am pretty good about eating healthy and avoiding greasy foods. I am always able to take water which is good.

So my question is, are there any kind of food or meals that you have found that for sure does not make you nauseous? Or maybe, have you figured out what DOES make you nauseous so you could avoid it?

(I expressed this to my doctor and he said to just try to eat less greasy foods and "hang in there" lol)

Thank you!

Can you drink on the pill if you stop taking it a few days before you know you will drink?

I know its not optimal by any means, and it wouldn't be very often, I just want to know if its possible that the side effects due to alcohol can be reduced if you stop taking it say 3 days before you know you will drink.

Shift worker...

Hi all,

I am currently researching as I want to get on Wegovy, I am weighing up the pill or the injection.

I think I am slightly leaning more towards the pill due to cost however I have noted that the pill needs to be taken in the morning on an empty stomach etc...

My issue is I am a shift worker, I work 12 hour shifts days and nights so it would be challenging for me to take the pill at the same time every day and on an empty stomach.

I'm hoping there might be some other shift workers in here who can let me know how they manage it, any tips or if it is even feasible at all???

Thanks! ☺️

Day 85 Update

Disclaimer: I do not have a normal response to Wegovy. I seem to be a super responder who had significant metabolic dysfunction and tons of inflammation that was confirmed by blood tests for many years prior to starting the pill. I have multiple sclerosis and at least one other autoimmune disorder, likely a couple more that are suspected, but not formally diagnosed by my rheumatologist.

As of this morning, I am down 38.2 pounds or 11.9% of my starting body weight. I have not been doing any formal cardio, but I have been markedly more active. I also try to do squats whenever I have a free moment (brushing teeth, waiting for shower to warm up, waiting for the kettle to boil, etc.) My energy isn't quite as high as it was the first two months on 1.5 mg; but I am extremely heat sensitive, so the weather hasn't been doing me any favors and may be the full explanation behind that.

I am still experiencing significant reductions in inflammation and pain, decreased hot flashes, improved mental clarity, and better mood. While I have managed to inadvertently cut out 99% of the smallish amounts of refined sugar I did consume, I have never had much food noise, so I can't speak to that. I'm more of a metabolic dysfunction case than anything.

My blood pressure is down approximately 15 points, both systolic and diastolic. I saw my electrophysiologist (doctor who treats afib - like a cardiologist/electrician) earlier this week, and he said that due to the trajectory I'm currently on, he was hesitant to schedule me for a 3rd afib ablation, and was optimistic that I may not need another one due to weight reduction and increased activity. No other lifestyle changes were suggested for the first time in my adult life!

Update: Almost 10lbs down

I started this adventure back around the end of April and am on 9mg currently. My appetite has slowed down finally more consistently and my nighttime cravings have started to reduce. Around 8/9pm on previous doses, I would still get loud food noise at night. That seems to be decreasing finally.

I am so close to breaking into a different set of digits and can’t wait! This has been consistent also in that my weight isn’t fluctuating as much as it was before around the 170s.

Side effects have been minimal nausea. I am moving up to the 25mg in a couple weeks.

Does 25mg ever get better? :(

I was on each previous dose for a month at a time with pretty minimal side effects but also minimal results. 25 has hit me like a truck. It has been a week and I’ve spent most days extremely nauseous, unable to eat much at all. I’ve vomited 3 days out of the week, and dealt with bad constipation (probably also from taking zofran). Also dealing with pretty extreme fatigue. I know it’s “only” been a week but after spending $300, I don’t know how worth it is to try and push through and adjust or just go back down.

Wondering if I should go every other day ?

I’m currently on 4mg and eating almost nothing. I’m talking I’m good with well under 1000 calories a day. That is a bit extreme to me so I’m thinking of trying to take it every other day and see if that gets me in a few more calories per day. Does anyone else do this?

Down 28 in 6 months

Started the pills in January. Currently on 9mg and going up to 25mg in a week. As the chart shows, there were a couple plateaus but just stick with it.
My routine is pretty simple. Get up, take the pill, do all my morning routines, and the 30 minutes is up by the time breakfast is ready. I find some mornings I have no hunger for breakfast. Lunch and dinner portions are easily half what I used to eat. Post dinner snacking used to be my Achilles heel but some nights I won't want anything.
Happy to answer any questions.

Food tip

This may be something everyone already knows, but I thought I’d pass it along in case not. I’ve been on the Wegovy pill since March 8, and am now four pounds from my goal. This is great and everything, but once I got to the 9mg dose, my nutritional intake has been pretty bad… That is, I have a hard time eating, as my hunger has withdrawn so much. So today I decided to eat my “big meal” at noon instead of waiting until later in the day, when I am never hungry. I think it worked; that is, I was able to eat better quality food re: nutrients. Usually I have no hunger at all by late afternoon, so for me, this is great. I ate about half a salad (really just lettuce, shaved Parmesan, and a bit of Caesar dressing) and about two-thirds of a crab cake. Not a lot, but it will help me start on a better nutritional approach. Bottom line: I have some appetite early in the day, so I’ll start taking advantage of that. My gut health has been shot to hell, and I hope this approach will help me get back in a more helpful eating pattern. That, and concentrating on drinking kefir again and having yogurt everyday.

Long term effectiveness of the pill

I’ve been taking the 9 mg pill for the past three months, and lately I’ve noticed that it’s become less effective at suppressing my appetite than it was when I first started.

I only have about 10 to 15 pounds left to lose, which I think I can accomplish by titrating up to 25 mg. But I’m wondering if that dose will eventually lose its effectiveness too.

My understanding was that this would be a long term medication to help control food noise, but so far every dose I’ve been on has seemed to become less effective over time. That has me worried that the pill may not be a sustainable long term solution, despite how it was originally advertised.

Has anyone else had similar concerns, or been on the 25 mg dose long enough to notice it becoming less effective over time? If so, what’s your plan going forward?
