Tourist to Partner Visa
Hi, I am a Permanent Resident and I fell in love with a person who was visiting her family on a tourist visa. We have been in a relationship since a year and want to marry each other eventually. I am not keen on migrating to her country and she too likes Australia. My concern is with the recent rumors about the Home Affairs removing or adding restrictions on people applying partner visas on tourist visas. She currently has her multi-entry tourist visa valid for another 3 years with 3 month max stay on a single entry.
I am thinking of calling my partner to Australia, marry her ASAP and I apply for her partner visa here. The thing is she has to go to her country by October to wind up a few things and can be back in Australia in March next year. As far as I know we are granted a bridging visa which remains inactive till our current visa expires, so my question is
Does she have to apply for bridging visa B if she goes back to her country in October?
Also what happens when she stays for more than 3 months on her tourist visa next year?
