Repainting our 1887 home (renovated in 2003). Help us choose a character-building color scheme and simple details! 🎨
Hi everyone!
We are the new proud owners of this historic home built in 1887. It has incredible bones and it was renovated down to the studs back in 2003. The home was originally white.
Right now, the exterior cedar shingle style siding is badly fading and peeling, so a total repaint is at the top of our to-do list! 🎨 We have already locked in our painter, but not the color scheme!
We lean toward a European Cottage / Old World aesthetic and want to stick to mostly simple, high-impact changes rather than a massive structural overhaul.
Besides a fresh paint scheme, what simple architectural details, porch tweaks, trim ideas, or landscaping adjustments would you prioritize to bring some of the historic soul back to this house? 🏡
