Career advice: Is a Sustainability Master's/MBA in Europe worth it?

Hi everyone!

I'm a fashion designer from India with 2.5 years of experience. Recently, I've realized that I'm much more interested in sustainability and am considering pursuing a Master's/MBA in Sustainability in Europe (mainly the Netherlands, Denmark or Germany ).

The only thing holding me back is that I have no formal background in environmental science or sustainability.

I'd love to hear from people already working in the field:

  • Is the degree worth it?
  • How's the job market for international graduates?
  • Does my fashion background put me at a disadvantage or could it actually be an advantage?

I'm also more interested in hands-on work working with artisans, farmers, communities, sustainable materials, and forestry, etc rather than purely corporate ESG or reporting roles. Would a sustainability MBA still be the right path, or should I be looking at something else?

Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
