We have given a portion of our house to a family, and they have a separate electricity meter from ours. Recently, there was a raid by the electricity department, and they discovered that the FESCO line before the meter had been tampered with and a wire was connected to it (kunda).

The meter is registered in my father’s name. We contacted the electricity department, and they told us to pay a fine of Rs. 160,000. They also said there will be something called an “istighasa” and that an FIR will be registered against my father.

Can someone please tell me what the next procedure will be? Will my father be arrested?
