Missing the original GPT-4o? We want to build a free, local replacement and need GPU funding.
We are a team of two machine learning students who miss the old GPT-4o just as much as you do. We are building a completely free, open-weight model to bring that experience back to the community.
Once trained, it will be fully open source, run locally on your own hardware, and cost absolutely nothing. To avoid legal issues, we are training the model entirely from scratch using strictly clean, public data.
We are highly dedicated and possess the technical skills to build this, but we lack the financial budget. Training requires serious GPU power, and server rentals are far beyond our means. We want to start a crowdfunding campaign for the expenses. If you want a private, offline AI that nobody can restrict or alter, let us know if you would help us.
