Received them today; single vision prescription using Chinese lenses. (MR-8s) Total cost including shipping £69. Communication was very good. Frames are solid and comfortable. I’ve got two further ‘own brand’ pairs on their way, but these were the ‘branded’ pair and I’m really pleased with the quality of the frames, the vision through the lens is perfect and I’m confident they’ll last well!

Following an earlier post I made about some nice JMM Admiral sunnies I’d bought, a few of you were asking me about WhatsApp contact. The supplier doesn’t have WhatsApp but does have WeChat. His WeChat id is:

I messaged him on there asking boring questions about his business, and he claimed he manufactures all his JMM in his factory, but the other brands he sources in. He then proceeded to send me a huge catalogue of JMM pieces, which I’ve shared a selection of here.

To be totally clear, I’m simply sharing this for information. I’ve bought one pair that I was really pleased with, but how consistent this supplier will be I don’t know, but it’s too good not to share. I’ve asked him for some more information about his factory and processes, UV confirmation etc so I’ll update if I get a reply. (They can be secretive about these things)

Stumbled across these whilst actually looking for Oliver People’s pieces. I’ve not seen them in gen nor used this supplier so have no idea how good these are in terms of both build quality or accuracy, but I thought I’d share the link. They have a few pairs on there, as well as pieces from other brands. I’ve spent too much this month so if anyone else wants to give them a go and drop a review later? Update - this supplier has some other interesting pieces - Zegna as well for example. Anyway, I couldn’t help myself and I’ve placed an order for ‘LP Roadsters.’ I messaged them and they’ve stated they manufacture them themselves, they are UV400 and the photos on 1688 are authentic photos of their reps… we’ll soon see…

Second purchase from Jimi; first pair were some Tom Ford varifocal sunnies, this time single vision sunnies (Prada SPR A17SF) for reading by the pool. As ever dealing with Amy was easy, she’s really helpful and chatty which is good. Paid by Alipay which is convenient for me. Cost was ¥848 inc shipping which was about £94. Ordered 29/5 arrived yesterday 20/6 - but to be fair I missed the QC upload onto their website to approve them so that likely added five days!!

Anyway, really pleased with them. They feel solidly heavy in hand and the material is reassuringly thick. It came with the original (replica) non Rx lenses which meant I could compare the tint - the prescription ones are slightly darker but not noticeably so.
Prescription was spot on. Fit and style suit me and packaging etc was all good. Overall a great buy. Possibly a little pricey but when buying through the TDs they’re always going to be a little higher than, say, sourcing directly from 1688, but the customer service from Amy probably made that worthwhile, and non prescription gen would retail $800-$900.

My wife likes Coach as a brand, but also as a brand for rep bags; it’s not at the super luxury brand end of the designer bag world, with second hand gen retail pieces fairly easily within reach. This makes Coach bag reps attractive because they won’t be subject to the same scrutiny as you’d get with LV or Hermes, they don’t scream LARP, but they still have a strong sense of class about them. As a result, good quality rep bags can be found quite easily and at great prices. This is one of the better suppliers I’ve found. They’re a small factory/retailer which means they only produce a fairly small range of products, (65), but they are almost exclusively Coach bags, they’re very affordable, and they have good positive feedback ratings. How close are they to retail? Not sure tbh, but pound for pound probably the nicest sunglasses I’ve ever owned! One of two pairs I got today, the other are a pair of Rx Prada sunglasses which I’ll review tomorrow, but all in all a good day for reppin’!

Received in hand. Build quality is actually really good, hardware all fine and material perfectly passable. To the untrained eye it will be fine. If you’re an expert you’d notice how the pattern doesn’t line up where the material meets on the different panels, but seriously who’s looking that closely? Anyway, thought I’d pop it up as at this price it’s a bargain - one note of caution - I’m not sure about the embossed version, that’s one to be cautious about I think, doesn’t look as good. However, seller is a factory and has some other pieces as well, but bags ain’t really my, well, bag, so I can’t comment on how good the others are…

So yesterday I posted up some sunglasses seller links that proved popular. I thought I’d share another supplier tonight for you Ray-Ban fans. I’ve ordered a number of pairs from this store. They aren’t clone grade, but measured against the price I think they’re excellent value for money. They do have some other brands (I did buy some of the cream Gucci ones as well) and ignore the random jeans as well, it’s a strategy to help
divert search issues.

Inspired by another user’s experience with an Ali Express supplier, I’ve given Aimee Optical a go. Ordered two pairs, one varifocal/photochromatic, the other single vision photochromatic. Styles are JMM inspired, service so far quick and impressive. Total cost was around £130 but also got 11% cashback from TopCashback.(Let me know if you want an referral link for bonus)

I’ve included screenshots of what I’ve purchased as I won’t put specific links in yet because it’s a fresh supplier and I’m not pushing sales, just sharing information. She did message me as well today that they have a supply of designer frames; I’ll put the Yupoo link below but it’s unproven as reliable although obviously am assuming can buy through Ali Express. I also don’t know prices…

Maybe close to retail, maybe not. I have no idea. But they look fun, fit well, are true to size, squeak a bit on tiled floors, and were £12 before intl shipping…
