People dancing in the park.

I went for a walk around 7 PM in Chengdu and stumbled into a massive public square. There were literally three different groups of elderly women (the Guangchangwu aunties) blasting completely different music from giant rolling speakers, doing perfectly synchronized dance routines. One group was doing traditional folk stuff, another was doing hip-hop, and a third was doing some kind of line dance. The energy was unhinged, beautiful and amazing.

I am "hot water-ed" out. Where can I find a cold drink that isn't beer?

I’m currently in a hotel in Xi'an and I’m literally melting. Every time I ask for water at a restaurant, they bring me a glass of literal boiling water. I get the cultural health benefits, but I’m a sweaty American who just wants a glass of ice. My hotel room only has a kettle, no fridge. How do I communicate that I want my water at sub-zero temperatures without being that tourist?

Could a centrifugal pump load be causing speed instability in an open-loop 10 kHz PWM motor setup?

I’m controlling a 12V brushed DC motor using a PWM controller at 10 kHz. At low and high duty cycles, the motor behaves normally, but between roughly 40–70% duty cycles I get noticeable speed fluctuations. The setup includes a 12V brushed DC motor rated at 3A, a PWM controller running at 10 kHz, no feedback loop (open-loop control), and a small centrifugal pump as the load. The issue shows up as audible oscillations in speed and inconsistent pump flow, although the motor temperature remains stable.
I suspect it could be related to PWM frequency choice, interaction with motor inductance, or instability in the load torque.

Anyone else sick of making algorithm content that your actual customers don’t care about?

Does anyone else feel like they’re just posting for the algorithm rather than their actual customers? I spent three hours on a deep-dive post that got zero reach, then I posted something trendy and it blew up. It feels like I’m losing the soul and the voice of my brand just to get views. I guess we just have to adapt.
