Electrostatic propulsion

Electrostatic propulsion

I recently saw a podcast clip (will link at end of post) interviewing a former NASA and JPL scientist boasting about electrostatic propulsion and how it could get a craft to mars in 3 days. I then went into some articles to check out even if there’s an ounce of truth or if it’s just someone being sensational trying to drum up hype and investment for their start up. However I’m no where near well versed enough in physics lets alone propulsion tech to call BS on something. But I was wondering if any of you can attest to what he’s saying. Is it true? Is this the future? A new breakthrough?

Maps feeling empty?

I play on a constant full pop weekly server but I’ve noticed that ever since the map sizes got to 4.5k the map seems empty. And I get it, it’s 100 pop what do I expect, but capping it at 100 while making the map huge makes everything seem so spread out. Back when the maps were 3-4K you’d actually have neighbours that you can fight against. God forbid you build in the center of a map now, you won’t have anyone for grids. You have to build next to a high tier monument on the coast to get consistent action. It starts to limit what you could do, and forcing you down a playstyle path if you want pvp or any type of action. What do you guys think? Are they saying that they’re looking into this? Upping server pop while making maps a little smaller?

What’s the most current lore status on the primarchs?

I try to look this up on YouTube but I come across videos that are several years old and then the comments of those videos are constantly debating the validity of them. I was curious are to where Vulcan is/ his status. I know dorn is dead, I think the khan is somewhere in the webway? Or dead? Russ is hunting traitors? Corax is hunting lorgar(who’s been praying for 10k years?). Lion and gully are back. Magnus I have no idea. Morty is rebanished to the warp? Peter turbo is coming back soon? If you guys can help it would be really appreciated. The lore is just very overwhelming haha

Question about light speed

If a hypothetical alien craft was moving toward earth at 99.9999% the speed of light. Would we be able to expect its arrival? Or would it not be there one moment and then the next they’d be there? Would we be able to see it, if we hypothetically knew to look at the exact right spot at the exact right time, and get some sort of heads up at an object incoming?

Question about quantum communication

Hi, everyone. Sorry if this is a dumb question. I understand that quantum communication is impossible because we can’t control the direction of the spin so we would be “sending” messages but you don’t know if you sent and up spin or down spin, essentially making it useless. Assuming that you could even do anything up to this point. Sorry if I got something wrong up to here.

BUT, what if for quantum, from what I understand instantaneous, communication, you send out a constant message of spin up or spin down. Let’s say every .5 seconds. And then you use the breaks in the spin up and spin down as your 0s and 1s in binary for example.

Like you send (using dollar sign as spin up/down message) $,$,$,$ (then a pre designated sequence at the end of which you begin the transmitted message) $,$,$,$, , $, , , ,$ (and at the end of the sequence of empty, spin, empty, empty, spin, the message begins). And you would use the empty signals and spin signals as your morse code of sorts.

Sorry if this made no sense, and if I’m completely wrong sorry for wasting your time. I was just thinking of how it would be theoretically done in fiction or in humanity’s future.

Please let me know if I made any semblance of sense. Thanks!

Basic beginner questions. Help needed

Hey everyone! I just got my first dj controller (flx4) and I’m currently learning for fun. I went with rekordbox at a friends recommendation and I have a few questions.

  1. I linked my Apple Music, so I’ve been using that, but is there a way to download the songs so I have them if I don’t have wifi? If not, how do you guys get songs saved for when you have to perform somewhere without wifi?

  2. I recently learned about stems, and found out that they aren’t allowed to work while using Apple Music. How would you guys do something like isolating vocals? Would I have to use downloaded tracks?

  3. Is there a way to analyze a bunch of tracks at once while I’m not playing? I’ve just been having to play each song for it to be analyze and the bpm logged.

That’s all I’ve got for now! Thanks everyone!
