So happy with the ring my fiancé designed!

I’m in love with not only my fiancé but also the stunning ring he designed and surprised me with on our 4th dating anniversary.

I shouldn’t have been as surprised as I was given the time we’ve been together, living together for 2 years and in our 30’s. But the intent and effort he put into the ring and the sweet simplicity of the moment (just the two of us on a park bench on a beautiful fall day) had me beaming. We like nice things but are generally not showy people.

I thought the design and size is definitely eye catching without being too much for my style.

Main diamond is oval, natural, VVS1, color D, 1.5 carats. Size 7

Fertility preservation consult, should I bring my partner?

I (31F) have an initial consultation for fertility preservation coming up in July. I have had declining AMH levels which resulted in my referral to a reproductive endocrinologist (1.7 ng/mL in March 2025 down to 0.85 ng/mL last week).

I am unmarried and living with my partner of 4 years. We are not actively trying to conceive. In the standard welcome email from my clinic it suggests bringing your partner to the initial consultation. Because we are unmarried and will just be preserving eggs rather than fertilized embryos, I will likely be bearing the financial burden of treatment should it be recommended. My partner will hopefully be the person I will be TTC with 2-3 years down the line when we’re ready.

I am wondering if folks having been through this would recommend they be there for the consultation. I am not opposed to it, but don’t want to ask them to take the time off work if it’s not really needed given that context.
