qBittorrent + Hydra Launcher + Stremio = BATorrent!!!
Three months ago I posted an early version of BATorrent here. It worked, but it looked like every other torrent client. A spreadsheet of file names and progress bars. Got a quiet 15 upvotes and died. Fair enough. I kept going. Here's where it is now.
Most torrent clients look like a tax form. BATorrent shows your downloads as a wall of movie, show and game covers instead. It reads the torrent name and pulls the real poster (TMDB for film and TV, IGDB for games). One key flips it to a plain list if you want that. Under the hood it runs on libtorrent, the same engine as qBittorrent, and it's native on Windows, macOS and Linux. Real Qt, not Electron. It's not a pretty shell over a weak client. It's a real one that happens to have taste.
Search is the part I like most. You type a name and get a wall of posters with ratings. Movies, shows and games together, from a bunch of sources, no login. Not a table of cryptic file names. You search once and click the right release.
There's a Discover page too, trending and new stuff, so you open the app to browse and not only to paste magnets.
The built-in player streams the file while it's still downloading, subtitles included. It fetches them, or you drop your own .srt. No waiting for 100%, no "open it in VLC". And games install with one click. You find a game, click once, it downloads and installs itself, ready to play. Your movies and your games end up in the same library.
There's a command palette on Ctrl/Cmd+K. Fuzzy-find any torrent, action or page from one bar, no mouse. I stole the idea from Raycast and VS Code. Never saw it in a torrent client.
Six themes, plus a fully custom one where you setown background image. No two installs have to look the same.
You can drive it from anywhere. A tray popup with live speeds and quick controls, and a browser WebUI you pair by scanning a QRcode from your phone. The code is generated localves the machine.
Under all that it has full qBittorrent parity. RSial download, per file priority, per torrentlimits, IP filtering, protocol encryption, import from qBittorrent, create .torrent, bandwidth scheduler. It also refreshes youPlex, Jellyfin or Emby library when a download fi on either. VPN interface binding with a realkill switch, so if the tunnel drops all traffic stops. Tor preset, anonymous handshake, anti leecher blocking, private tracker mode.

I'm one guy in Brazil. It's free and MIT licensed. No ads, no telemetry, no "Pro" tier, no account to make. And because it's MIT
it can't be quietly sold to some company that bole only call it makes on its own is the updatecheck, and you can turn that off.
You can get it for free at batorrent.com
Built solo, on every spare hour, over months. Bugs, feature requests, harsh criticism, all welcome. That's how it got this far.
