The more you make yourself appear less attractive the more comfortable people will be around you
Just like the law of diminishing returns states that if you put in a lot of input into a specific utility (attractiveness in this case) eventually it reaches a point where the more attractive you are the more uncomfortable people will be around you. Meaning people will actually be less comfortable being next to you.
