[TOMT][SONG][2000s/2010s] Slower emo/post-hardcore song about “prom night” with lyrics like “bye bye for now"
Trying to find an old emo/post-hardcore song I used to listen to sometime around the late 2000s or early 2010s.
It was NOT a super mainstream band. The vibe was similar to bands like Alesana or Snow White’s Poison Bite aesthetically, but the song itself was slower, sadder, eerie/melancholy, and only got heavier toward the end.
I VERY strongly remember something involving “prom” in either the title or theme. Maybe “prom night,” but it is NOT:
“The End of Prom Night” by Snow White’s Poison Bite
“Say Goodbye” by I Killed the Prom Queen
The singer had that classic scene/emo look with longer black hair, and I vaguely remember a music video with a mostly white background and possibly a tux/prom aesthetic.
The lyrics are fuzzy now, but I remember something VERY close to: “bye bye for now…” or “I’ll die for now…”
followed by something like: “I can’t feel anything” or “this isn’t right” or “right by your side tonight”
The way he sang it sounded almost breathless/gasping emotionally. The melody was slower and haunting before the song got heavier/faster near the end.
I originally found this song on YouTube over 10 years ago and I KNOW if I saw the title or band name, it would instantly click.
