Likeliness of number of trays being realistic

I just started Invisalign today (feel so ugly, bleh) and I noticed how it says 1 out of 40 trays. I know the number often gets upped or prolonged if issues still need to be fixed. I just wanted to ask what are the chances of 40 trays being the end number, or is it just 9 times out of 10 you'll likely have to prolong your treatment?

Is the initial end number of trays ever actually realistic? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I am in the beginning "feeling ugly" phase so I'm trying to gauge how much longer I'll be stuck like this.

There's a guy I've been talking to that I met online and we've been talking for two months. He mentioned becoming exclusive a month ago, but I just feel like there's little to no communication anymore. I barely get texts or calls anymore and when I mention calling, I feel like the topic gets brushed over. We used to send long voice notes every hour. I feel like I have to cut my losses and move on, but the hard part is the idea of getting over someone I have so much in common with and like so much. We happened to like all the same things and know about all the same topics. My biggest fear is not finding something like that again. I really like him, but I feel at a dead end by the lack of messaging or communication.
