title, are you expected to stay on campus from move in day until the start of classes? is there a downfall if i go home soon after because i have to work labour day weekend? will i be missing out on bonding experience?

i'm gonna be starting at queens in the fall and i'm thinking of applying for either lifeguarding or intramural monitor or Q move crew. any insight on any of these jobs? how are they in terms of advancement opportunities, difficulty, hours etc? anything is appreciated!
