I have my EB2 NIW immigrant visa interview coming up at the US Consulate General Frankfurt. Would love to hear from anyone who's recently been through the same.

• How long did the actual interview take?
• What kind of questions were you asked?
• Did they dig into the NIW specifics (your field, proposed endeavor) or was it mostly standard biographical stuff?
• Anything specific to Frankfurt that I should know?
• What documents did they actually look at vs. just glance at?
• Any surprises?

Family of three applying together – any tips for derivative applicants (spouse/child) welcome too.

We're going through EB2 NIW consular processing, interview is scheduled (Germany) and medical exam is booked for mid-June. So we have a few weeks of waiting ahead.

My question is simple: what should I actually be doing right now?

Specifically:

• Can I start applying for jobs and doing interviews before the visa is in hand?
• What's the best way to explain my status to US employers?
• What other prep work is worth doing during this waiting period?
• Anything you wish you'd done during this window but didn't?

I'm targeting my first marathon and would love some guidance.

Stats:

- Weekly mileage: 50–60 km/week
- Minimum daily run: 8–10 km
- Longest run to date: ~25 km @ 5:00/km avg pace

I don't hit a physical wall. My body feels fine around 25 km, but I just can't seem to push past it. Looking for advice on:

- How do you break through that 25 km ceiling on long runs?
- What does your long run progression look like when building toward marathon distance?
- Should I be incorporating gels or nutrition? I currently run without any fuel at all.
- Any training plan or structure recommendations given my current base?

Meine Partnerin und ich haben letztes Jahr einen Anwalt in Berlin beauftragt, unsere Einbürgerungsanträge gegen ein Pauschalhonorar in Raten zu bearbeiten, inklusive aller Kommunikation mit der Ausländerbehorde bis zum Abschluss.

Was passiert ist:

- Sept 2025: Anträge eingereicht, erste Rate bezahlt

- Feb 2026: LEA forderte zusätzliche Unterlagen an. Wir haben alles innerhalb von 24 Stunden bereitgestellt. Der Anwalt bestätigte schriftlich: „Wir haben die Unterlagen weitergeleitet."

- Zweite Rate kurz danach bezahlt

- Nächste 3 Monate: Keine proaktiven Updates, sehr langsame Antworten und wiederholte Empfehlung, eine Untätigkeitsklage einzureichen — was wir ablehnten, da diese in Berlin nach unseren Recherchen derzeit kaum Wirkung zeigt

- Mai 2026: Wir haben die Vollmacht wegen mangelnder Kommunikation widerrufen und alle Korrespondenz mit der LEA angefordert

- Der Anwalt behauptete zunächst, es habe außer der Ersteinreichung keine Korrespondenz mit der LEA gegeben — im Widerspruch zur E-Mail vom Februar

- Nachdem wir rechtliche Schritte angedroht hatten, leitete der Anwalt die LEA-E-Mail vom Februar weiter und räumte ein, dass die Dokumente aufgrund eines „technischen Fehlers" nie hochgeladen wurden — trotz laufender E-Mail-Kommunikation nie offengelegt

- Ich forderte eine vollständige Rückerstattung, die er zunächst ablehnte und stattdessen nur einen kleinen Betrag anbot. Als ich ausdrücklich rechtliche Schritte androhte, ruderte er sofort zurück, entschuldigte sich, räumte den Fehler ein und bot eine vollständige Rückerstattung abzüglich der bereits an die Behörden gezahlten Gebühren an

Ich habe noch nicht geantwortet. Meine Fragen:

1. Soll ich die Rückerstattung akzeptieren und die Sache abhaken, oder habe ich Grundlage für eine Beschwerde bei der Rechtsanwaltskammer Berlin?
2. Stellt die falsche schriftliche Bestätigung im Februar ein berufsrechtliches Fehlverhalten dar?
3. Könnte die dreimonatige Verzögerung negative Auswirkungen auf unseren Antrag haben?

Ich habe die vollständige E-Mail-Korrespondenz als Beweismittel. Für jeden Rat bin ich dankbar.
