We're a 33M/30F couple who recently stayed at Desire Riviera Maya and had an amazing time. We loved the friendly, open-minded atmosphere, but we're looking for something a little more upbeat and fast-paced. Desire had more downtime than we expected, so we're considering Temptation for Christmas.

We really enjoyed Desire's clothing-optional environment and understand that Temptation is topless-optional rather than fully nude. We also loved Desire's nightclub and playroom. Since public sexual activity isn't officially allowed at Temptation, what is the atmosphere actually like after dark? Do guests still get fairly adventurous, or is it more of a regular party-club environment?

We'd also love to know:

How does the nightclub compare with Desire's?

Is there anything similar to a playroom?

Are guests generally as friendly and social? At Desire, almost everyone we passed smiled, said hello, or started a conversation.

Is Christmas week usually busy? 26-30th

Is it easy to meet other couples, or do people mostly stay within their own groups? Since it isnt a LS resort, is it easier to approach people without giving the impression you want to sleep with them?

How are the theme nights and daytime pool parties? Do people go all out for theme nights like they do at desire?

Are the pools heated? Are chairs hard to get?

Has anyone tried the fantasy massage? What does the experience include, is it available for couples, and is it similar to the ones at desire?

Are there any other activities or experiences we should book ahead of time?

We'd especially appreciate opinions from couples who have visited both Desire and Temptation. Which one did you prefer, and why?

Prive Community New Orleans

Hi everyone! I recently became a member of Prive in New Orleans, but I haven’t been able to find many reviews or much feedback about it.

I checked the pool reservations and noticed that the time slots don’t seem to be filling up during the week or on weekends. I believe they allow five couples per time slot, but most—or even all—of the spots still appear to be available.

We weren’t expecting a huge crowd, but we also don’t want to be the only couple there every time we go. We would mainly be available on Sunday or Monday nights. Are there any current members who can share what the atmosphere and turnout are usually like on those days?

I'm also curious how they are with the vaccinations because after signing up it says you must be fully vaccinated. We did not get the covid vaccine so I'm unsure if they are even going to let us in??

First Time at Desire RM

My boyfriend and I have been together for 13 years, and we just got back from Desire Riviera Maya. I can't stop thinking about it. This trip honestly changed my brain chemistry—it was the best vacation I've ever been on.

We're not in the lifestyle. We just wanted the freedom to have sex in public, maybe watch or be watched, but we weren't interested in interacting with other couples.

Arrival & Check-In

From the moment we were picked up at the airport, it felt like a luxury vacation. We were driven in a Yukon stocked with beers and sodas in an ice chest.

When we arrived, the staff immediately started joking around and being flirtatious, which actually helped us relax and get comfortable. One employee even called us "fresh meat."

The only thing I didn't like was the constant pressure to become members and attend a sales presentation. We eventually gave in and went, and I would not recommend it. That's a whole separate story.

Passion Suite

For the first half of our stay, we had a Passion Suite.

The room was beautiful, although a little outdated. It was large, had a huge jacuzzi, and the best part was being able to walk straight onto the beach.

One issue we ran into was smoking (420). We got a little too comfortable and were told not to smoke anymore, so we stopped. The next day, housekeeping removed what we had left. It was annoying because we've never had that happen at another hotel, but it wasn't enough to ruin our trip.

Just a heads-up: if you're bringing 420, keep it well hidden. We simply went to Mercado 28 and bought more. They seemed to care only about 420, not cigarettes or vapes.

Our room was also in the quiet section, which we loved. The quiet pool usually had only 2–8 people. The sexy pool, on the other hand, always had 30+ people.

Body Types

Before going, I was curious about what everyone's bodies looked like, so here's my honest opinion.

You'll see every type of body imaginable—perfect bodies, average bodies, bigger bodies, jiggly bodies, bodybuilders, fake boobs, fake butts... everything.

I'm plus-size and have lost over 200 pounds, so I have a lot of loose skin. Honestly, I've never felt more confident than I did at Desire.

Fantasy Massages

We booked three fantasy massages.

The first included a stripper, while the other two were the same experience without her. Personally, I didn't think the stripper was worth the extra $200 since she mostly just danced in the hot tub for about 15 minutes.

The massage therapists, though... they absolutely know what they're doing. At around $750 each, they should—but I can honestly say they were worth every penny.

If you're considering one, book it.

Drinks & Food

The drinks didn't seem very strong to us.

They had Modelo, Corona, Tito's, Grey Goose, Don Julio, Patrón, and plenty of other liquor, but we could drink all day and mostly just felt bloated. Eventually we switched to shots, and after about 10 lemon drops, I finally felt something.

Our Uber driver mentioned something about the altitude affecting alcohol, but I have no idea if that's actually true.

The food, however, surprised me. I'm a picky eater and expected mediocre all-inclusive food, but it was actually really good.

Having a butler was also amazing. We could simply text him for reservations or ask him to find us a last-minute table.

Pools & Theme Nights

Getting chairs at the sexy pool on weekends is difficult, although we didn't try very hard because we didn't really care.

Beach beds were almost always available, and there were always chairs and beds at the quiet pool.

Theme nights were a lot of fun. We packed accordingly and dressed up every night.

I'd say about 50% of people dress up for dinner, but nearly everyone dresses up for the night show and club.

Bring plenty of lingerie.

If you're doing the professional photo shoot, schedule it early in your trip before everything gets dirty.

The Club & Play Areas

The club was one of our favorite parts. We danced constantly.

One of our first nights, we saw a couple having sex on the dance floor while the woman was performing oral sex on another guy. That's when we realized sex doesn't just happen in the playroom or hot tub area.

After that, we became much more comfortable having fun in different areas ourselves, while still being respectful and discreet.

The sexy pool has activities about twice a day. Between activities, there can be a lot of downtime, which some people probably use for naps. I'm not really a nap person.

The sexy pool closes around 6 or 7 p.m. Then everyone heads to dinner before the night show at 10 p.m.

The shows are entertaining and sexy, but get there early on weekends or you may not get a seat.

After the show ends around 10:45, everyone heads upstairs to the club. Later, people gradually move to the hot tub and eventually the playroom.

The playroom can be completely full one minute and nearly empty 20 minutes later.

Our Experience

Even though we're not in the lifestyle, we really enjoyed using the playroom and the cabanas near the hot tub together.

One night, while we were in the playroom, another couple pulled their curtain back while they were having sex. We're still not sure if they wanted a better view of us or were trying to initiate something. We weren't interested in joining, but it was definitely exciting.

I expected to see more activity around the hot tub. I only saw a couple of oral sex encounters. The beds nearby got a lot of use, but still not as much as I expected.

For the second half of our stay, we upgraded to a swim-up room in Eden.

It was absolutely breathtaking.

Housekeeping came twice a day, we had a different butler, and it felt even more luxurious. We were also much closer to everything.

The property was incredibly clean. They even raked the leaves every morning.

Final Thoughts

I already dream about going back.

Before this trip, I worried about jealousy, arguments, or feeling insecure, but none of that happened. We had an amazing time together.

The only thing we struggled with was interacting with other couples because we didn't want to accidentally give anyone the wrong impression. We mostly kept to ourselves.

Overall, I can't recommend Desire RM enough. If you're on the fence, book the trip. It exceeded every expectation we had.

But we didnt care enough for it to mess up our trip. Just want to let other people know to make sure your smoke is hidden away. We just went and got more lol (mercado 28). They don't care about other smoke, only 420. But anyways, our room was in the quiet area, which was nice and the quiet pool was always fairly empty. Between 2-8 people max usually. The sexy pool was always full, 30+ people at a time. We can talk about bodies for a moment because I know i wanted to know before I went. You will see any and every type of body. It was great having a butler because we really didnt even have to think about reservations, we would just text him and either ask if anything was open or if he could get us a last minute reservation because we aren't very good at planning ahead. Pool chairs are pretty much impossible to get over the weekend, I mean we really didnt try that hard lol but we really didny care about having a chair. Beach beds are always open and available. And there are always chairs and beds available at the quiet pool. Theme nights were a lot of fun. We came very prepared and went all out. Most people did dress up, maybe 50% at dinner and almost 100% at the night show and club. Bring lots of lingerie. If you plan on doing the photo shoot, plan it for the beginning of your trip before you get everything dirty. The club was so much fun, we danced so much. One of the first nights there though I saw a girl getting fucked while sucking another guy on the dance floor. Thats when I realized sex doesnt only happen in the play room & hot tub area... so we started having fun. Head in the club, the beach, damn near fucking in the pool. Just a little more discreet. They have activities at the sexy pool about twice a day, but other than that you are kind of just waiting for the next activity. That was one thing we didnt like too much, a lot of down time, which I guess most people use to take a nap, but I'm not a nap person. Soon after some people will go to the hot tub area, and soon after that people start going in the play room. The play room could be full one minute, and 20 minutes later, completely empty. We are not LS, but did enjoy the play room together, as well as the cabanas by the hot tub. There was one night in the play room while my bf had me in doggy, and the couple next to us was also in doggy, the woman got closer to me, and they pulled the curtains back, and we are not sure if it was to have a better look, or to initiate something, but I wasnt aware until he told me later.. not that we would have engaged, but it was a turn on for sure. Now whether they wanted to watch or join, we will never know lol. I did expect to see more sex stuff at the hot tub but really only saw like 2 blow jobs.. the beds by the hot tub did get a good bit of use but still not as much as I was expecting to see. For the other half of our week, we had a swim up room in eden. The room was absolutely breathtaking.
